if i want to play in the last event, on sunday, nov. 2, when do i need to register? is there any information on how much 1st is estimated to be?

I was planning on going to the horseshoe on Oct 26th and i am not interested in playing in any of the events going on. I was curious if there would still be just regular cash games going on as well. Im primarily wanting to play 1-2 and wanted to be sure i could play before heading there for no reason.

there should be plenty. the tournaments aren't going to be in the pokerroom. they are going to be in their concert hall.

has any one taken the diversey shuttle? it leaves at 10:45AM what time will it arrive at the shoe?

My buddy has. With Chicago traffic it will get there when it gets there. I would think about 35-45 mins on a normal weekday (minimal traffic). If traffic is bad it should be somewhere between an hour and never.

You didn't specify weekday or weekend. Weekday shouldn't be too bad. Weekends would vary a lot based on events.

380ish registered for Event No. 1 by close of registration Thursday night (per lady who answered the phone in the poker room). Max capacity 800.

I think it has a very good chance of selling out with a lot of day-of registrants.

It was 425 by the end of registration today and there will try to be no cap. If there is more than 800 we will put the rest in the poker room plus alternates.

Last offical number I heard was 1187 for todays tourney. I will let Jeremy verify this. Wow what a crazy day. When I left at 7pm they had 6 5/10nl, 1 25/50 mixed, 40/80 horse, 1 10/25nl, and was trying to get the 25/50 nl going. 30 tables total when I left.

1187 was the total number of player for event #1 with a 70K first place.

Why was the poker room closed down right before noon Friday, to accomodate the tournament? I understand the turnout was much higher than anticipated (all good), and the Venue couldn't handle it (not too good), but to give the daily morning players a "two-hand" warning before abruptly shutting down their tables, to make way for a bunch of invaders that the Shoe isn't likely to see often after this tournament is over, seemed a slap in the face to those regular patrons.

Is it customary for the casino hosting a tournament to bend over backward for every wannabe entrant, even those dumb enough to arrive 15-30 minutes before a tournament that had had an abundance of publicity AND pre-registration? Wouldn't adhering to some sort of cutoff point have made more sense than shooing away players who support you year-round? Would it not have been better to simply use the EMPTY tables that were still available, and make THAT the cutoff point?

It's hard to tell if the Shoe was just trying it's best to be an accomdating host (although it wasn't too accomodating to it's regular clientele), or if this was a decision born of pure greed. As my hero Bill O'reilly would say..."what say ye, Jeremy?"

Standard, cash players always get the short end of the deal during WSOP Circuit events but there is a lot more action and the room is full of tourneyDonks from the Donkament. I am speaking from experiences at HCSI, I haven't been to Hammond.

At HCSI, they compeltely shut down all cash games for the large tourneys and only start cash games as tourney tables break.

The WSOP Circuit event is a mixed blessing for me, it sucks but it is the only time we can get an O/8 game.

the cash games were insane last night. i think someone posted all the games that were going. big money flying everywhere. i think i witnessed almost back to back 2500 pots in plo. and i was only in the pokerroom for like 12 minutes.

planning on going sunday am as my wife is playing in the ladies tourney at 3 pm; will there be a huge wait for 1/2 n/l? anyone there yesterfay that might know? tnx
