Disagree with both sentences. Whether the players are good or bad, your opinion on them should matter, no?

I play 5-10, so don’t really keep tabs on the 2-5 players

Re: Horseshoe Hammond (Hammond, IN)

I'm going to be coming to Horseshoe for the first time in mid-August. I'm staying in the Hyde Park area and will be heading to the Horseshoe around 4:00-5:00 on a Saturday. I'm taking the train into CHI, so will be carless.

Coming from Hyde Park, I'm assuming an Uber is the best way to get to the casino?

Red Line to Chinatown for the shuttle is the cheapest, but not super convenient.

Uber estimates $35 or so each way to get there each way, any general idea what Red Line to Chinatown and using the shuttle would cost? Time to do that route?

Red line is $2 each way (maybe $2.50?) and the shuttle is free. Both run 24/7. It leaves the chinatown red line stop at 15 after the hour. Full schedule is on the casino website. Not sure how long it takes you to get to the red line from where you are but to chinatown should be 10-15 minute train ride and the shuttle takes 20-30 minutes to get to the casino.

Like to give out the yearly bonehead of the year award to the poker room manager making the wrong floor call yesterday while I'm playing 2-5 nl awarding the pot to someone who doesn't have cards while the other player still has a hand great ruling from Soto think he might need to be in that dealer class that I heard is going on

If you were at the same table we will need more details than that .. but initially you would have to trend to the player who is still holding cards for sure. GL

player a on river bets... player b says something he says call but player a heard he folds so player a shows him one card which that card would have made him a straight then player b claims before he showed him he said call but by this time player a threw his cards in the much therefore soto the genius that he is asked the player still holding his cards well did he show you the key card to make a straight he says yes so soto says push the pot to the player that has no cards

Re: Horseshoe Hammond (Hammond, IN)

I guess the dealer just went on break during all this? If player b said fold why hasn't dealer mucked his hand? If player b said call why hasn't dealer announced a call?

Also if he did say fold then he doesn't have a live hand and therefore doesn't get the pot.

When will 30/60 and 50/100 mixed games resume? Any chance of something lower running?

Depends on how they all did at the WSOP. If they did well, the game will run as soon as they get back.

Re: Horseshoe Hammond (Hammond, IN)

TBH I don't mind the ruling if Player B can't beat the straight. Although I can certainly lean towards 'lawyer mode' when it comes to discussions here in this forum I don't mind when a Floor makes a judgement call in a sticky spot. (Unfortunately I've heard of some whoppers coming from HH in general.)

Although, putting on my Floor hat, I would NOT have required Player B to pay off the River bet as a trade off for awarding the pot to Player A. I assume Player B paid off the bet, but you could confirm that.

"Player A we have a requirement that is it takes 'two to win' at Showdown. However, since Player B can't beat what you did show I'm going to award you the pot in the middle and allow Player B to keep his River call. Player A this is a warning that you must show two cards to win a pot in this room."

My biggest issue with Floors is that they don't explain their decisions. Yes, it opens up the door for future scrutiny but it also opens up the door for avoiding these spots in the future and if they do rule incorrectly they can also can learn the correct ruling. The other issue is that the Floors must communicate these types of decisions so that they are consistent for 'the next time.'

I'm sure this post wont be popular and I'm not totally sure I would've ruled as suggested here in the exact moment either. I also think I would 'always' rule the pot going to Player B in a tournament since others are affected.

Your description of the spot was pretty good. If Player B kept saying "I said I call." then Player A needs to show two cards to win ... I would need to hear from all 3 parties (A, B, Dealer) for sure and I think I would also look at whether Player A is a reg and 'knows better' as well.

Last night on the WSOP ME FT a player had 1.3M in his hand but said 13M before he dropped them ... He was held to a 13M bet. He only had 15M behind at the time and the other player was folding anyway ... could've been bad for him! GL

PS .. You don't really express how Player B was acting during the ruling. Who called Floor? Dealer or Player B? I personally don't really want pots like this pushed to me on technicalities no matter how much I'm stuck. I was pushed a pot once with an Ace high flush and during the next deal 'everyone' at the table had an epiphany that the other player had a straight flush .. we chopped it up and moved on.

Re: Horseshoe Hammond (Hammond, IN)

This depends 100% on whether B said fold or call. Usually the floor polls the players not in the hand to figure it out. If there is genuine doubt what B said, giving it to A is fine.

Re: Horseshoe Hammond (Hammond, IN)

Never seen a floor take an actual poll. They may take into account what one or two nearby trustworthy players have to say, although I haven't even seen that happen recently.

50/100 ran Friday per Bravo. Any change in the games since the last time I asked?

Also again I ask if anyone here on 2p2 would be interested in getting a 20/40 or lower mix to run. If we went to them to a fair number of interested people, would they run the game?
