Wait list at 5pm while lots of people are at Potawatomi. Seems a bit ridiculous to have these long wait lists unless they purposely scheduled less dealers because of the nearby circuit

I think they get a bad rap. I feel like the floors do a good job of filling seats quickly. Obviously the long lists aren't ideal, but they are short on dealers. The manager has been in the room a lot lately and was even dealing himself a few nights recently.

I would assume you don't have much experience then...

This room used to be great, but it has steadily decayed over the past 3-5 years. The floor is so preferential to regs, the dealers have a difficult time keeping the game running smoothly and the waitlists are completely unbearable that it makes me want to not come back. Sadly there's not a lot of alternative options in the Chicagoland area, so I'm stuck with it.

I agree the dealers have a difficult time running the game but I say this because of the fact their are too many players that are lost in outer space while they are on their phone or b looking at big bertha the cocktail waitress or c watching tv. As far as the floor is concerned their are some very good floors and some bad ones.

Floors are good, dealers are good. I'm definitely guilty of falling asleep on my phone. Don't think the floors favor regs at all, it's just that the regs know what they can get away with and what options are available to them.

Dealers are always great. I've had some real gut wrenching moments with some of the floor decisions wondering if it was real life. If they don't see the problem with the lists being this long and letting that money go unraked then there is an absolute hole in management.

Dealers do a great job...They just need more!

In my experience, Friday. Has been running a bit recently, but not last Friday, where we only had about 4.

never had d-train sell me anything. ask him about his former career as a pro gamer, though.

20/40 LHE runs sometimes on fridays and sometimes on saturdays.

I'm sorta torn. On the one hand, at Joliet the table is way more sociable, less people missing action etc. because they can't even use headphones at the table. OTOH, the enforcement is just ridiculous (people have to push away from the table to use their phones which is really silly imo), but I guess justified a bit because any phone usage would nullify the bad beat. I think a good compromise would be just no headphones. Sitting at a table where 7/9 people are wearing headphones is frankly boring AF for rec players and causes people to miss action.

Lots of great dealers in the room: Q and Shea are a few of my favorites.

Any insights on the 30-60 O.S.E. mix game on Thursdays? It ran last night with a list according to Bravo after weeks or months of not really running. I think it's mostly a different crowd than the 50-100 mix regulars. Could be a good game, would like to hear some firsthand accounts.

I've always liked the dealers and staff there. A couple of bad situations but no one is perfect and the bad situations are rare.

As for guys jumping the lines, that's happened for years, but dont know if I've ever seen anyone at the desk help someone along like that. Good for you for flagging it @Shuffle

They have gotten a lot better through the years. Mistakes have become fewer and far between.

There was a long line for all games but I was on the 2/5 list and hanging around waiting for my name to be called. I observed a man approach the desk and the guy running the list told him to hurry and take a seat. There had been no announcement over the PA or whatever, he wasn't the next on the list either, so I immediately knew something fishy was going on. I strolled over to the table and further observed the dealer ask this player for a card. The player said he did not have a card.

His name was not on the list. He did not have a card. He was given a seat in front of 10-15 other people. I immediately went over to the floor and told them what I had saw, that I didn't know any of these people involved and wasn't targeting them specifically, but it's obviously not cool for a poker room to be run that way and not fair to all of the other people who are waiting in line.

I hope this situation will be addressed going forward, and just wanted to give everyone else a head's up.
I have had this done for me personally more than once. Long list, hang out and bull**** with the desk. I'm 20 down the list. Seats start opening. Players aren't nearby because of the long wait. They page guy #1, page guy #2, page guy #3, nobody's showing up and they have to have several calls for each guy prior to removing them. A fourth seat opens. He doesn't want four seats open. "Hey, just take that one."

I'm not endorsing this, but there's an edge to being friendly and having chips in hand ready to play when others are abusing the list. Certainly not fair to the 15 guys ahead of me, but I didn't ask for a favor and there's nothing stopping them from being ready to go.

It would be helpful if you could hear your name being called more than 2 feet outside of the poker room (in which there is nothing to do if you are not playing) without having to request the text alert. E.g., there is no reason why the poker room PA shouldn't broadcast in Sixth Street.

I once had the same floor person make two different decisions on the same situation, both of which were unfavorable to me. The second time I even specifically brought up that the prior week, she ruled the opposite way on the exact same situation.
