The sad reality is most promotions are done to attract new people, not favor the existing clientale. Take eBay/Paypal for example, they do promotions to those that haven't purchased anything in a while, to get them back into buying mode because they feel they might have lost them.

Which days are the slowest Jeremy? Base something around that. The idea of free seats is a good idea, since people like a shot at something for nothing.
I agree, installing a $2/hr promo on slow days, (mon/tues) would defintely work in everyones favor.

Excellent point with having white chips when buying in. The standard $200 buy-in for the 1-2 games should be $20 in white with the rest in red.

damn, the 200 is really looking nice, payout wise.... and overall its a nice tourney it seems like.. 30 minute blinds and more chips than the hundred buyin.. but i'm wondering, the 100 was 80+20+10, is the 200, 160+40+10? well either way by reading those payouts i'm definitely playing tomorrow. I played in Thursdays 100 and took third... god the 1500 seat was so close! lol really donked away first place... was THE shortstack coming into the money (14 people got paid).. and before i knew it it was three handed but it was worth it... and the higher buyin tournies should prove to be better overall.. looking forward to tomorrow.

Oh one more thing.. the alternates.. didnt really like waiting 30 minutes into the hundred to be able to play.. at what time should i get there tomorrow to ensure that im not an alternate.. like 11 am at the latest? reg starts at ten so if i get there at 11 I should be good to start right at noon right?

Is only razz ever spread? I know there's 5/10 HORSE on Saturdays usually.

Why is this awesome? When the casino is guaranteeing a $100,000 prize pool. They are using our promotion money to pretty much reduce the risk of an overlay in the prize pool. They now only need 19 other people to buyin (28 from this promotion and 19 from people who have won the other tourneys, total of 47) to eliminate their risk.

Well I consider it "awesome" because it represents the only chance I have in playing in it. So, a free chance is awesome to me. Im sure tourny players have other opinions and I see your point, and it is well taken.

Ding Ding Ding

Also, this promotion might attract a few more players to buy into the event because they figure with 28 promo seats, the field will be softer. More tournament fees for Harrahs to collect...

Yes the Shoe comps $1 per/hr, BTW how many 1/2 tables did they have going at Majestic?

Im not sure Id say 2-3, they had a bounty tourney going on as well, but I will tell you this, the players were brutal. I ran all over that table. There was honestly 1 decent player there and he was readable.

Also, can you explain who to tip as well? I know the dealer, but do you tip anyone else? I just want to have good etiquette when playing there.

i'm playing. didn't know it was a guarantee/a guarantee w/ a realistic chance at a good over-lay (would have went for that as well).

also, there's really hardly any figuring about it. the field will now be softer.

lol....other than the "holy sh*t awesome overlay if they dont hit 100k", i think "holy sh*t awesome a bunch of 3-6 players in a $1500" is the next best thing

It is customary in these parts to tip everyone. On medium size pots, $5-$10 is the norm for the dealer, another $5 to the floorman working that area, and follow that up by buying the table a drink and throwing the cocktail waitress a mininum of $10. That would be considered proper etiquette in these parts, and anything less would look chintzy. You're welcome.

Tip dealers/Chip runners/cocktail waitresses.

I dont drink when I play, so I throw the waitress a buck/water. I take care of the dealer depending on pot size. Chip runner? Who is this? I bought my chips from the desk and sat down, never saw a chip runner. Also, I saw one chubby dude sitting by the TV, is he considered the floor? Im not being cheap, but why should I tip him? Rememeber, I am an online 400nl player so this live stuff is rather new to me. I have figured out how to beat the live game imo, but want to know who to take care of. Also, is there a way to get in with the floor people to find good juicy games or not? I appreciate all your input.
