Finally registered. First time poster, long time creeper!

So, I just moved back to IL from KY. I played at the southern IN shoe for a couple years, enjoyed it, and wanted to play at Hammond Shoe. I've only done cash games–1/2 NL-3/6L–
and thinking about doing their 100BI tourney tomorrow @ noon. Has anyone played this?

Also, I like to take a small bag with water, headphones, batteries, hoodie, etc...is this allowed there? Any input would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

One last thing. Does it get cold in there? The s ind shoe was horribly cold, but it was a boat lol.
They'll let your in with a bag. I do recommend a jacket or hoodie though.

Welcome!

The structure is pretty bad in the $100 MTT's, but if you don't mind a turbo-like structure and just want to play it's run ok.

Yes the bag is fine and you can bring everything you brought up. You might want to add in a protein bar or something. There are no food comps and the only snacks in the poker room are $3 candy bars and slimjims.

It gets cold some days, especially away from the rail connected to the main casino. No parka required, a hoodie does the trick.

Usually upper 20's occasionally mid 30's, but they add a $500 seat for the winner to the end of the month tourney so it's a decent incentive.

Although the comps are not generally exciting, basically the one thing you get is $1/hour on your players card in reward points. You can use these points at a few food places in the casino I believe. While it might take a while to rack up anything meaningful you can use them at JB's for a sandwich, chips and a drink which is like $10. A free meal for every 10 hours of play isn't unreasonable.

do you know if if all the Horseshoe rewards cards are the same? I'd imagine it would be, right? Same corporation.

Yeah I think so but I'm not sure. I believe Harrahs has its system set up so you can spend the reward points (they might be called tier credits?) at any Harrahs property but I could be wrong.

Can anyone confirm these two new rules.

1. Asking to see a hand is no longer allowed? If so I applaud this new rule from the top of the mountain

2. When you sit at a table you have to sit for an hour before changing tables and anytime you do change tables you need to stay at the new table for an hour? I think I saw consequences of this rule and it was people just switching games without going through the desk for the table change.

I don't see how they can restrict where we put our money in play, but I'm all for the change in the I want to see his hand rule.

One is new. Haven't heard two yet, but people just slide into new seats all the time.

You no longer have to show your hand if you are called , if you muck it nobody can ask to see it. Unless you suspect collusion then you can call floor and make a big scene out of it. Last person holding cards wins the pot and does not have to show even if anyone asks to see.

This is a mistake. Any Showdown pot should have to have at least 1 hand show, and in fact it would be better if all hands were shown at show down automatically.

Cut down on the what do you have, no what do you have, no what do you have crap...

No, it's not. The rule was never, ever, ever used ime to actually find collusion. It was always to gain extra information and/or piss people off.

Totally this. I've never seen anyone accuse someone of collusion, it has always been for the two reasons Ike stated or an attempt to embarrass someone.

But the last person to bet still has to show correct? Otherwise there will be the whole "you show" "no you show" show.

right? am I missing something

and how are the they going to enforce the time rule? I assume they will use the players cards to time table stays but that will still be a lot of information to deal with. Tables break all the time. If I go to another table will my card prevent me from sitting at a new table because my old table broke and the dealer forgot to hit the restart button or whatever?

the management is trying to respond to player's complaints. that is good in general. but don't let the inmates run the asylum. You can't make everyone happy so just make big changes with unforeseeable consequences.

I doubt the table change rule will be strictly enforced. There are only a few regulars who are repeat offenders who this is likely targeting.
