You could call and ask, but then again I did that for the Sunday $200 and was told it was a 180+20+10. Of course, it is actually 175+25+10, so who knows what answer you'll get for the $500.

i agree. it does happen at many other places. it just really annoys me and i dont see dealers do much about it. it gets to the point where other players at the table inc myself start to feel the need to prompt others to turn their hand instead of angle shooting and wasting our time. thats not good since it creates a bad table atmosphere and itis the dealers job to begin with.

I tell players to show their hands all the time.

im not interested in doing that every other hand. when i feel the need to there is a palpable frustration in my voice.

anyone else think the 500 structure blows?

I mean I'm probably going to be at the shoe regardless, but debating whether it's worth stepping off the cash games

forgive me if this has been posted already in this thread

I don't know who you're talking about, but the only Michigan fan at the Shoe I know of is 2+2er ikestoys. 2/5-5/10 reg with blonde hair?

He posts in politics (as do I) so I can certainly see him complaining a lot lol.

"Wannabe pros", "pros", "regulars" all lumped together. Casual angry type players omitted.

So I had two dealers tell me this tonight. Once the current BBJ gets hit, it will reset at $20,000 and increase by $10,000 every monday. The hand will be four 2's losing. What does everyone feel about this?
I know one thing for sure, its never going to approach those $300k type numbers again.

Someone told me you can't call ahead any more for at least 1/2, is that true?

Meh. Don't really care either way. I head this as well.

True. It's actually improved the wait times.

They also had a high hand promotion for the first time yesterday. Was playing PLO, so I didn't get the details. They were making it sound like fun though.

I don't know what the amount of money for the high hand was.

I was there yesterday as well, and here's what I've gathered:

1) High Hand bonus is for the whole month, every hour, and only for tables that pay the jackpot bonus. (1/2 and 2/5 nl and 3/6 LHE)

2) Quad 2s or better to qualify, you don't need a PP for your quads to qualify, but your kicker must play.

3) 4-card str8 flushes (4 cards on the board + 1 of your hole cards) also qualify, but this next part I'm a little unsure about, and that is I think only if your non-playing card is higher than the lowest card in your str8 flush will your hand qualify. Example: you have 88, and make a 6789T str8 flush, you qualify. If you have 57 and make a 789TJ str8 flush you do not qualify. Again, I'm sketchy on this so maybe someone else can confirm.

4) $100/hr payout rolls over to the next hour if it isn't hit. $250 bonus for a Royal Flush

5) They're using 2 monitors (one on each side of the main room) to show the current high hand, the previous hour's high hand, and the time remaining till it restarts. (pretty much at the top of each hour)

I did not find out whether the bonus goes into your stack and remains in play or not. No one at our table ever qualified for the 6+ hours I was there. While I was in the room the lowest hand that won was quad 5s and highest was a K-high str8 flush.

Overall, I like this new change, giving our money back to us in smaller chunks like this as opposed to monster-sized BBJs that may or may not make it back into circulation.

That seems like it will be a pain to track across all the tables...

That was my first thought as well, but it really wasn't. You need quad 2's or better to qualify, so no more than 2 or 3 hands seemed to qualify each hour. When a player would table a qualifying hand, I think the dealer would call over the floor or a chip runner and they would input it on a program that was displayed on one of the tv screens. The promotion seems to be run efficiently, and it brought some excitement to the tables, so I'm a fan of it.

To the guy who was talking about 2p2 at the table last night, shhhh!

the 100$ stays on the table. Older, tall, black guy named Arnold won it yesterday around 6pm and he told me it had to stay on the table. Doesnt seem liek a big deal to me either way.
I remember way back prolly around 2008 when they had the straight flush/royal flush bonus. If anyone at the table had a royal he got 500$ and everyone else got 100$. THAT, on the other hand, seems like it would loosen up the table.

This should include 4/8 when it goes off.

I imagine so, but I think I've only been there once when it's actually gone! Now I'm probably not there as much as many others here, but I wonder how many of you need more than one hand to count how many times you've seen a 4/8 LHE game going. (serious inquiry)
