Thanks.

I've seen the shuttle services frequently referenced in these threads...does the casino itself have information about them? Meaning, could I call the 'Shoe and get info about where this picks up and drops off?

I can get to Chicago OK - the trickier part is getting to Hammond and then to a hotel for the weekend (and back and forth between the casino). I already looked into the Ramada, but it appers they are sold out on the weekend of 10/24-10/26.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm thinking staying somewhere near the Loop might make sense and then take one of the buses from downtown over???

Help...please?
You can stay anywhere in the loop or river north and walk to the shuttle bus at the Hyatt on Wacker. The shuttle is free and the even give you food vouchers. You can also hop on the subway (red line) anywhere in the loop and catch the chinatown shuttle. I live downtown and take both of these shuttles all of the time. It only takes about 20 minutes on the shuttle so you're better off staying in Chicago than near the casino. If you have any questions about hotels/motels, shuttles or chicago in general, pm me.

The following is considered a misdeal according to Robert’s rules:

(I) Cards have been dealt to an empty seat or a player not entitled to a hand.

Does management adhere to this rule?
I'm not sure how old this rule book is. Our hose rule is if the dealer deals someone in that should not receive a hand or to an empty seat the hand is just killed and the action continues "random card theory"

Also, are the structures for the WSOP-C events posted anywhere? I know one was posted a while ago in one of the variou threads on the subject, but I can't seem to find anything that has been declared as THE structure that will be used for the events and the satellites.

Specifically, I'm wondering about the $345 event and the nightly $235/$120turbo.

I believe I read in another thread that the $345 had 6,000 starting chips and 40 minute levels? When will this information be officialy known/posted to the website?

Thanks!
Friday and Saturdays all 34 tables usually go. Wednesdays is our third busiest day.

Tonight 31 games

10 1-2 nl
6 2-5 nl
4 5-10 nl
1 10-25 nl
1 25 -50 PLO/NLHE
1 25-50 nl
2 3-6 limit
1 10-20 limit (usually 2-3 going on wednesdays)
2 20-40 limit
2 40-80 HORSE
1 100-200 limit

You are correct about the $345 event. The rest should be on the web site soon.

Also, is there a kill in this game?
I would say comparable to 2-4 limit online. And yes the 6-12 game has a kill to 10-20.

hmm the next time im in chicago ill use that shuttle instead of taking the metro to gary and then paying a cab the rest of the way. which stop is nearest to the AMTRAK UNION STATION?

and why would anyone wanna bother with horseshoe when the majestic star is a perfectly fine place to play --all 24 hrs i found 1-2 and 2-5 NL there, and there was always at least 1 table still going at 6am. at the majestic star hotel u could get the poker players rate of $44 a nite even on weekdays unless its gone up since april. i stayed there 2 weeks or so and never once had to leave the motel or worry about no vacancies, or having the price jacked way up on fridays and sat like vegas does. only bad thing about majestic star is the FOOD. buffets way overpriced, and they dont sell chicken fingers at the snack bar, only chicken wings.

For anybody who visits Chicago with family members I recommend the Hyatt Regency Chicago. There are plenty of things to do in downtown Chicago and you don’t need a car to get around. If you are going to the Horseshoe with a group they can come and go as they please.

Union Station is a 20 minute walk to the Hyatt Regency Chicago. There are many Hotels at different price ranges in this area.

Re: Horseshoe Casino - Hammond, IN

Dont see why anyone who lives in the chicago area would want to spend more than a few days in gary.

Is there anything else in gary to do other than poker/gamble? All I see in every direction is mostly old men (with a few youngins) lookin to gamblegamblegamble. Are there any pretty ladies in Gary/Hammond?

btw, the MJII hotel is an absolute dump.

No. Nothing else to do. Only play the holdems, omahaha, etc. You have to head up to Chicago if you want to find any semblance of a social scene.

Re: Horseshoe Casino - Hammond, IN

I definitely plan on coming up for some of the circuit events later this month. The one I'm most interested in is the PLO8 on Wednesday the 29th; does anybody know approximately how many players this usually draws? I don't want to make that long of a drive to play in a 100 player tourney or something like that. If that tourney doesn't have a good turnout I would rather just come up later for the hold'em tourneys/cash game PLO action, so if anybody could give me feedback on that particular tourney and/or the PLO cash game scene I would appreciate it.

I'm sure 100 is the very low side of the entrants for any of the circuit events.

Re: Horseshoe Casino - Hammond, IN

This is a new stop for the WSOPC at a new casino that hasn't had poker before (at least not for a long time). You can look on the WSOP page for estimates. Jeremy did say he expected the first event to max out at ~800, but I'm not sure anyone knows. I will say the casino is very popular and Chicago is a big city.

2/5 PLO cash games run regularly.

For our location we don't know how many it will draw but we are guessing in the few hundred range. I think the first $345 could have 800ish range.
