On Sunday there was a 1/2 NL and PLO mixed game. It was quite a good time and hopefully it will continue. It would be a good opportunity for the NL regulars to start playing PLO.

Jeremy,

I’ve noticed there are coffee carts at a few spots in the casino and with all the talk about food not being conveniently available was wondering if you could suggest a hot dog cart to management. Harrah’s could sell a lot of hot dogs with a cart nearby.(provided they are not overpriced).

I'll hope this game will run on Friday (since I expect the room to be packed).

Did/does it run for a couple hours or all day? What days are most likely to have this game? Have you ever been able to spread any limit holdem larger than this? Also, do you anticipate that the WSOP-C will increase action in the room, or will most players be local?

I appreciate all responses as I would love to have a place under 1000 miles away where I can play a little live poker!

Whoa. Has the mythical CMO appeared on 2+2?!

So do I. It was probably a thing of luck that it did run at all, since it was actually a NL table to start. Most of the players agreed to mix it; not sure if those circumstances would be common once the room is full.

Amen to this, Sunglasses, a great idea. I doubt we'll see the day when anything at Harrah's is NOT overpriced, but even if they are, they'll still sell a lot of them to people anxious to escape the other food choices available.

Anybody have thoughts on/experiences with the 20/40 limit game there? Thanks.

Worst 20/40 in the country. Same old players almost every day, and basically, a pissing-in-the-wind contest to see who gets in the last raise. But, let two people leave the game at the same time, and the other seven macho-men will stand too, until all conditions are to their liking. A HUGE waste of time.

After visiting the east coast / AC for the first time since horseshoe opened one nitty complaint on the room.

Dealer racks, they have so little chips compared to other casinos. In horseshoe, you sell $200 chips and need a fill again. In AC, their racks have Blacks/ Greens / Reds. Just like a normal 1/2 game. No bs gold chips. They can sell 1000's before getting a fill. So much more efficient than horseshoe where they need a fill after selling 1 rebuy. I still wonder why they use gold chips... no other casino uses it, vegas, ac... foxwoods.

For what are the gold chips used?

I believe it is only cash right now. It sounds like they are working on a weekly tourny schedule though.

This weekend I noticed that the Shoe finally hooked up the high definition on their TV’s. If you sitting at the right spot at some tables you can get a great view on many TV’s. Also the floor personal have been very good about putting on the channels you want. I hear that the tournament schedule will be up soon.

Yes, the floor is good about requests. I like hockey and asked for them to put it on and they did.

The Gold chops are great for the 6/12 games, even though there is much bitching about the 'odd' chip size. Chicago is not California, unfortunately.

How is the 10/20 at the shoe? I'm getting back into Limit based on the wonderful 6/12 game, and am looking to move up.

No to hot dog carts, but yes to a decent food option (other than the buffet).

New to the area - thinking about driving over one of these days to check out this casino. I am also interested in how the 10/20 game plays. Anyone have any experience with this game?

Also, how many days a week do these games run? Thank you!

When is the last time you saw a hot dog cart in a nicer casino? I do agree the selection of "quick food" available could be better. But they are aware of this and this is out of my hands. We do have a meeting in the next week or so with the general manager and I will mention something about food selection.

Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays are the best days for 10-20 limit. It does go other days but sometimes only one game.

Wednesdays there are usually two games and sometimes three 10-20's. The games are usually pretty good. Other can give more info on the play.

You can always call ahead to see what is running 219-473-6065

Completely agree...hot dog cart in a casino like that? Come on...

Thanks for raising the food issue with management. The buffet is really very good, but the quick food options completely suck.

I went to the Majestic Star for the first time this weekend to play in a tournament and I am not going back. The place is a dump and the staff was downright rude. The Horseshoe poker room staff are very nice and pleasant and most of the dealers greet me by name. I remain very very happy that we have a room of this quality in the Chicago area.
