The poker room returned to it's usual place next to Sixth street bar. It's only 9 tables toward the back of the room. the front is still full of slot machines. I got there around 7pm and waited over an hour for a 1/2 seat. Played for another half hour then got called for 2/5.
Played about 10 hours over 2 days. I only saw 3 really good dealers there. Rest where medicore at best. They could be decent dealers with time. Saw a good number that was just horrible( it's bad when the dealer is looking at chips not knowing what to do then me telling what to do with them). Another dealer who rotated in from dealing table games. Sits down and says I've never dealt hold'em in my life. Lets say that was a very long 10 minutes. We were all very nice to her but had to literally tell them each step. First we had to say change out charge from shuffler then they didn't know what direction the cards needed to be dealt. Once they had that figured out they only put out 1 card on the flop. We had to tell them to flop 2 more cards. This goes on for a bit. Lost 2 players due to the dealer. Supervisor finally took over while new dealer shadowed. I still tipped her when I won a pot. It's not her fault for inept management for throwing em into the fire with no training.
Another dealer at the table next to ours failed to call floor for 2 players yelling at each other. 1 player got sucked out and started swearing up a storm. They started getting heated, dealer doing nothing about it, when finally one guy called the other guy a rapist. Dealer at my table screamed for floor to take control on that table.
They have about 80 dealers pre covid and less than 15 returned. Lots of new dealers who don't have the experience to make a good poker room.
Lets just say upper management seems to have screwed up the poker experiance to what use to be the best poker room around Chicago.
My .02 cents.

I'm wondering: Since the front of the poker room is still full of slots do they allow smoking? That would suck. As much as I miss live poker I still have not ventured back to Horseshoe. Maybe it's me but I'm having a hard time getting up the interest to go. I realize that this may sound confused on my part. . .you know, missing the game but no interest to go. Is anyone else in the old Horseshoe community who visits this site feeling the same? From the various posts it just doesn't sound like the few rooms that have reopened in the area are doing much to welcome back the majority of poker players. And before someone says, "Wait a minute, friend, the lists are long." They're long because there are only nine tables open, and they have to be split between 1/2, 2/5, and PLO.
