Patronising any businesses near the Shoe seems like a terrible idea. My advice is to get on the Skyway ASAP. The Skyway tolls are the nut low, but the alternatives are worse.

The food court is decent. I like the ALL IN sandwich at the deli. The choose your own pizza/calzone station is solid. The fish sandwich at the burger spot is the nut low choice amongst all option as far as I can tell.

With an n of 2, recent evidence points to the Italian sausage sandwich from the burger spot as giving an edge in the 50/100 mixed game. Observational data, not a direct participant. In the upper section you can also order off a limited menu.

I'd like to give props to soto again for this weekend for not having any dealers and making the tournament run like a ccg event. Also does anyone know if horseshoe reads comment cards it's mind boggling how the best card room in the Midwest is run by a guy who is a deer headlights

Obviously, you know that CCG is exactly where yesterday's TD came from....he couldn't walk and chew gum when he was there...can't believe the Shoe hired him.

Also, I don't like the way he was talking to some of the players yesterday on Day 2...he would do well to remember that we're his flippin' customers.

^^^I don't play tournaments, but the floor that you are referring to is solid and he knows what he is doing.

Um, okay. How bad were the waiting lists last weekend?

I have a chance to play this weekend for the first time in a while. I'd rather not play $1/$2 or whatever in Gary, but that's better than having the brush laugh in my face when I walk up to the desk at the 'Shoe, which is an actual thing that happened during a CPC weekend.

Yeah CPC weekend is brutal for cash games, lists 30+ if you get there even in the early afternoon, good luck.

Just because your a customer it doesn't give you the right to act like a 5 year old only time I've seen floors talk to customers that way was because they weren't acting like gentlemen instead they were acting like they were 5 I feel bad for some of the floors because seems like they are babysitting 21-80 year old men

They did a promo toward the end of last year where 25% of your tier credits for the last 3 months of 2017 would also be awarded as tier credits for 2018. Theyg were added to people's account a week ago.

Believe I saw another promo for double tier credits this February.

I second the notion of playing at Majestic if you're looking for 1-2.

Yeah, going just a little south to Munster or whatever has great options. And yes, Schoops is awesome. Get the burger with the crispy edges.

Is the room doing any table draws for CPC main event seats, or any other promos going on this month?

I'm in the Chicago area on business and I've been playing quite a bit at Horseshoe. I thought I might play a tournament this Sunday but decided to look up the structure before I drove out there.

Buy-in and Rake
Buy-in: $210
Entry Fee: $210
Total Buy-in: $420
Chips
Base Starting Chips: 8,000
Total Chips: 8,000
Blinds
25/30 minute levels

Is this a typo or are the tournament fees are actually 100% of the buy-in? 30% is unbeatable! Who's playing these?

how much does valet cost? is it worth it to pay for, you know, to avoid getting followed and beaten up in the parking garage?

^^^Hammond is super sketchy. But as long as you are aware of your surroundings, you should be fine parking in the parking garage.

Never felt unsafe in any casino parking structure ... even a couple I had to cross the street to get to. I worry more about a car jacking for some reason ...

Just use your ears and eyes (in that order) and have your keys in your hand before exiting the stairwell/elevator. GL

Garage is safe, don't even worry about the keys in your hand thing. The only security precaution I take is to limit the number of people who know I have cash and avoid flashing it.
