1/3 during the promo is limp happy to hit the high hand and will call the usual raise to $15.
if there's a 3bet, it's kk/aa/ak and you can play perfectly against that player.

aggressive players in late position learn quickly not to get creative with dumb fish that wont fold top pair no kicker.
and they become part of the herd and limp. (or get frustrated and move to a 2/5 table.)

2/5 during the promo has more fish than avg but still filled w/knowledgeable players who know how to use late position.

rake at 1/3 is 10% up to $6.
rake a 2/5 is 5% up to $6.
ironically, 2/5 usually has LESS rake than 1/3 if the pot is taken down on the flop.

I don't play here as a first choice, but I have some good friends who live closer to Shoe, who make it worthwhile to meet them to play.

I don't play table games or slots there fwiw.

Any word if the structure is available for the end of July tournament?

Gonna be in the Baltimore area for a few weeks before heading to Choctaw. Simple question. Should I play here or at Maryland Live? I can careless about amenities and how nice it is. I just want the most fish.

I have almost zero experience playing cash games @ Horseshoe, but everything I've read and heard tells me that if you play low-limit NLHE you should play @ Horseshoe. If you play anything else, you should play @ Maryland Live. Reason being is a lot of people say that the 1/3 @ Horseshoe is fishier than the 1/2 @ MDL but Horseshoe doesn't get a ton of games that aren't NLHE.

Play both and decide for yourself. A lot of the player pool you can find at both casinos anyway, altho Live def has a much much larger pool. IMO, Horshoe has bigger 1/3 games due to button straddles and what seems to me people just having more expendable money.

Honestly Ive played in 1/3 games at the Shoe that play bigger than Live 2/5 games a small handful of times.

Its all preference. Both have fish. Both have winning players.

Thanks for the reply. I normally play 2/5 but I don't mind playing 1/3 if there's action and fish. Ill probably begin at the horseshoe as it's a couple minutes from where i'll be staying.

Can the promo chips the casino gives out weekly be used to buy into poker tournaments? I thought someone said they can but can anyone confirm this?

One of the supervisor confirmed this to me over the phone but I'd still like to see confirmation here so that I don't save my chips for nothing

every thursday, you must swipe your card at the "july core" promo kiosk. 5-10x. definitely doesn't give you $15 an hour but it does give you some bonus credits, looks to be around $5/h

pink usually runs over the weekends, there was also a 5/10 limit i think

3/6 limit runs pretty much all the time.

Cool, I will be there this Saturday and hopefully it will run.
I forgot about 3/6, but that's not really worth it for me.

The pink chip game rarely runs anymore. In the last 3 months it hasn't ran more than 5 times. I can only hope that once the summer ends and the promotions simmer down that the pink game will run like it use to.
