Well, considering that the Feb/Mar circuit was such a success for the Shoe that they're adding a 2nd circuit this year, at 6 months apart, it seems at least possible that we'll see another Feb/Mar circuit too, don't you think?

Getting one again this year was pretty much a slam dunk - most locations get one every year. There is a chance there are openings on the schedule, since most people don't expect one in Cincinnati this year, so there's at least a chance. This one being in August increases the odds there's a second one, but it's still probably at least 5 to 1 against. I'm not sure how often they switch up the timing as significantly as they did from Feb/Mar to August, but I assume they wanted it as late as possible last year for logistical reasons in a new location.

So that's a long winded way of saying I hope they get two this year/season, but I'd consider it a pleasant surprise if they do.

Don't forget to take into consideration that Feb/Mar was part of the 2014/2015 circuit, whereas an August event will be part of the 2015/2016 season.

I would hazard a guess and say that the schedule from season to season is somewhat fluid, meaning that they don't always hit the same stops, in the same order each year. Don't expect a Feb/Mar event in the 2015/2016 season in addition to the August event.

Room was a madhouse last night (in a good way). Felt like I was at a sporting event. High hands, spinning the wheel, splash pots, and the 10k BBJ hitting (my friend had the losing hand 88 vs T6sss on 987sss8xXx board) all around the same time with people going absolutely bananas. I think they had pretty much every single table going last night. Momentum definitely seems to be shifting if they can keep out-promo'ing the other room. They already had better aesthetics, food options, cashiers, and buy in amounts.

No you guys are right I was forgetting when the season ended.

And Randal you're right, last night was tons of fun. Our table had no less than 5 high hands while I was there, but only 3 held up. My 9-high SF got beat with 5 mins left and your friends bad beat (congrats to him btw) cost my neighbor his quad high hand with SECONDS to go.

Boy was he pissed.

So the bad beat winner also got the high hand? Eh... there should be a 1 jackpot/hand rule or something IMO, no need for someone to horde them all in 1 swoop

BBJ hand winner almost got as much as my friend!

He hit winning BBJ hand (~2.5k), high hand (500), spin the wheel twice cuz he flopped straight flush (2k), then later on he hit another high hand AA full of 2 or something then actually knocked off his own high hand in the same time frame with AA full of 8's AIPF vs KK (500). That's not counting the pots he won from those hands.

Well technically the bad beat winner got the high hand but the small prize.

9 handed game, so if all players qualified then 7 people got $500, the quads got $4550 and the SF got 2450 + 500 for the high hand.

EDIT: Forgot about the 2 spins. Glad he did well on the wheel.

There was only 6 active players at table when it hit. 2/5 game. My friend got like 5.6k all said and done.

Can someone please comment on how juicy the cash games are?
I was thinking of going and playing 2/5 or 5/10 NL. Possibly 5/5 PLO.
Lots of fish in these games? Best time to play? Any other info willing to give?
I live in Baltimore and haven't been yet...

i have never seen 5/5 plo run at the shoe.

2/2 plo isn't eligible for the promo.
the only people that play during the promo are the hardcore plo players.
there's this one player that will bluff raise you (instead of just calling) just to see if you have it. if he's wrong, he pulls out another $500 from his wad.

lots of fish playing 1/3 nl waiting for their chance at $500 lotto

I asked a dealer last night about the rake being dropped (it was being discussed by the table), and he claimed that it wasn't a gaming issue, but that Harrah's corporate had to make the final decision. If that is the case (and I have no idea of ow much the dealer actually knew) I wouldn't hold my breath.

since the Shoe requested approval for the rate drop from the gaming commission then I assume corporate approved.

why else would corporate allow shoe mgmt to go thru the time/trouble/expense of the paperwork if they will not allow them to implement it?

So - I HOPE this was just an honest mistake, but I've noticed since then that the waitresses do not all bring you your receipt when you pay with comps.

So I'm not saying the scam is happening here, but I saying we should all be doing two things:
1) Asking for our receipts;
2) CHECKING our receipts

Just be careful guys.
which restaurant is this?

did you speak to the food mgr about waitresses not bringing you the final receipt after you give them your card?

and when you actual ask for the final receipt, was there any discrepancy?

In order:
The restaurant was Johnny Sanchez - ordered a cheese steak and got billed for that + candy.

What are you talking about? The waitress brought me my receipt in the first place, that's how I noticed the discrepancy.

There was no "final receipt". They refunded me the difference in cash.

All of this was specified in the first post.

My 1st foray into live poker was on Wed. Second visit to Horseshoe. Went the morning after opening night on 1st visit and only played a couple shoes of BJ. Thought I would play some 1/2 to get the feel of it this time. Glad I bought $600 with me. Wasn't aware of 1/3. Didn't wanna buy in short. Enjoyed my self immensely. Table full of limpers. Allowed me to stay in my comfort level. Glad the room is looking out for the rec players. Hoping to final table a Sunday online big boy and withdraw enough to work on my live game. Sixty three dollar profit after 5 hours, dealer tips and 2 drinks. One happy rec player. See you soon.
