What happened to the enthusiasm for the pink chip game?? There was a stretch where it was running fairly regularly Wednesday through Saturday. Now it seems like it only goes Wednesdays. If any pink chip game regs want to try to revive it on days other than Wednesday, let me know!

Where's the best place to stay to be close to horseshoe for Preakness weekend? Maybe a place close to pill icon and horseshoe with a shuttle?

It's a done deal on weekends, either people went broke in the game or they just don't call it down, and to be honest with the bad attitudes that come with that game they just assume call a 1/3 down and be done with it

If the game goes for 6 hours, 37 minutes is arguing over who gets the extra 50 cents it's a comedy show for sure

If you guys want to get the, game off, have you tried to tweet to Anthony and let him know that people want to play? Somebody posted a bit earlier itt that Anthony is on Twitter quite a bit so hopefully he will adress this.

As for the bickering over who gets the extra 50 cents in pots, consider changing to 8/16. Yes, it wont be pink chip, but you could save a fair amount of time by doing this.

The issue is not with the chips, really. I don't think anyone would object to not chopping down to that last 50 cents but the lottery makes you do it. Playing 15/30 with red chips and no rake? Chop down to white. It's a dumb law.

Plus 8/16 is tough without 2 dollar chips.

I don't think there is a whole lot of places to stay/do things right around Pimlico (except Preakness obv, which is pretty cool). If I were you I would see if your hotel is offering a shuttle bus (I have no idea how common this is) or I would stay either in the inner harbor or federal hill/canton and sign up for a bar package. They generally include a brunch beforehand, booze, and a ride to and from the race. Here's a popular one I've heard of. Federal hill is right next to the horseshoe.

Thanks, I'll try tweeting him. Like the other poster said, 8/16 would be tough without $2 chips, but maybe 10/20 would work. I just want the game to run as often as it use to!

If it ran Saturday, I'd be there for sure whenever I could. But it seems dead on weekends and I pretty much never can play during the week. With the limited time I have to play, it almost seems better to go to AC for games like this and make a weekend of it. At least there you can play 10-20 hold em, 10-20 Omaha, 15-30-45 OE all weekend every weekend. But of course you have all the issues that come with driving three hours in both directions. It is just nice to be able to play what you want when you want. If only I enjoyed no limit even remotely, these problems wouldn't exist. But I don't.

The enthusiasm is alive and well. Personally I've been working way too much to go to the shoe and waste time trying to start a pink game. If it's already going, I always try to make it.

I'll likely be there tonight to start the game. 6pm?

I'm always down for Friday or Saturday, but the past few weeks the game hasn't been called.

Pink chip game went for an hour and a half and then broke. Was 5 handed for the duration. Most likely cause of the high hand promotion at Live today. Hopefully we can get it started later this week.

Live had all 50 tables running by 4pm yesterday so yeah, half your player base (ie: dealers) were working...

It's anything but alive and well, the game is basically on fumes on Friday night and Saturday night either the players aren't there and or they don't call the game down

It's ashame its like that one sat night when they didn't call it down like a month ago really hasn't gone on weekends

I was there maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago on the Saturday, when they called the 1/3 instead of calling pink. It left a bad impression, and I haven't been in the room Fri-Sun since. I might try next weekend (can't tomorrow or this weekend -- out of town).

What is the advantage of a pink chip game vs non pink games?

It's easier to see the chips against the green felt.

^This.

Same experience, 5-6 weeks back. 8+ on the list, refusal by floor to call it. "Those names are old, it won't go, I'm putting another 1/3 out." I was willing to start 3-4 handed and give it a go.

Contrast with experience ~8-9 weeks back, where once the game started on a Sat. night it ROLLED for hours, with new players giving it a go too. It was a fun time.

Please take a lesson from MDL on how to cultivate less popular games (which they did from the start at the expense of grumbling from #157 on the 1/2 list in the heyday opening month.) The room CAN make a difference in how they do things, and retain customers as a result.

The donkey (me) is here. 2 so far for pink. I'll play as short as they will call.

Any takers?

Anthony once said regarding the 6+1 rake:

"Obviously, this was the most debated thing we discussed between management and executives upon opening. Ultimately, we realized, strictly by the numbers stand point, that $1 just doesn't quite stretch as far as it used to. So, in order to remain profitable (which any business must do), we needed to charge that extra $1.

With that said, I personally guarantee that that $1 will not be going to waste. I promise that the Horseshoe Baltimore Poker Room be the "Nordstroms" of the area. We will have the BEST food, the BEST guest service, and, most importantly, BEST (Juiciest) games.

All of my managers are beyond experienced in all levels of the business. A brief introduction:

<details about shift managers> *mod note - not allowed*

Add in that level of experience, plus my own 21 years, and I guarantee you that we know how to BUILD GAMES. Building a successful poker room is not all about how to treat the guest or what games to spread. It's a combination of EVERYTHING. My experienced staff, and I, have put together a room for you that will be the most action packed, most fun, and most comfortable to play in on the east coast...maybe in the entire country.

Any poker room manager can throw promotions around to attract guests, but only a truly good poker room can have GREAT GAMES year round, despite what's being offered by the casino or what promos the poker room is offering. My personal guarantee to all of you is that I will do my best to offer the juiciest, most fun, and best run games in the entire mid-Atlantic region.

as long as the $3 an hour comp rate continues I'm more than Ok with the extra dollar rake. allows you to get a full meal after only like 4 hours of play.
