It was 6 decks on the main floor, albeit in a $50 minimum game with no mid-shoe entry (which was bizarrely not enforced). Not sure if they use 8 decks in the lower minimum games

Twenty years since I've played BJ in AC. $10 min as opposed to $5 then. They have a spot to place an additional bet for a 3 card flush, str8, or 3 of a kind combining your 2 cards with the dealer's top card. Don't know what 'dp' is.

DP=Deck Penetration. Crucial if you are a counter (or think you are).

Played a little $15 BJ. Pretty sure they were using an 8 deck shoe. Tower shufflers on all tables. Didn't notice any continuous shufflers at all. DP felt pretty shallow. Probably only about 70% but I was just there for fun and not running a count to be able to verify that. Most all the dealers were highly inexperienced so the play moved very slowly.

Went for first time yesterday and I was pretty impressed. The place was very nice. I especially like the straddle anywhere for 5x the BB. I also checked out the tournament schedule and they have some interesting stuff going on in October. They have a tournament with 3 blinds, a survivor on Friday's w/ 30 min levels, two bounty tournaments, and a multi-tier turbo.

I experienced one absolutely awful dealer, but the rest were pretty solid.

I had an interesting situation come up. Villain shoved all in on me on the turn (I had KK on a 10 high board and he didn't even have that much left) I said call and turn my hand up (bad habit because im a tournament player) the dealer took my hand and put it in the muck. Floor was called. The entire table heard me say call including the guy I was in the hand against. Dealer saw my two kings and confirmed what I had. The floor didn't even retrieve the cards out of the muck, told the dealer to run it dealer put out a clean river and I was awarded the pot.

I really like that massages are $1 per minute. I was talking to the masseuse and she told me Maryland Live! takes 60% from them, highway robbery.

The food at the table is way overpriced though. The noodle bar is outta control. You can't get anything for less than $19. You can get Lenny's deli also, but you're looking at $12 for a sandwich. I didn't have a chance to go to a restaurant, but I'm sure Guy's restaurant, steakhouse, and Johnny Sanchez won't disappoint.

Overall I liked the room a lot and will be splitting my time between here and MD Live. I met Anthony briefly and he seems to be on top of things and know what he's doing. The two cardrooms in MD are in good hands IMO.

Ravens leased the GameDay parking. Not Orioles related.

I just spoke to someone in the parking department at the Horseshoe and they told me that you won't be charged to park if you get there before 6AM tomorrow morning (when they start charging for the Navy game).

That's good to know, assuming same is true for Ravens games.

The parking situation as it relates to stadium events is a real negative. Seems like they just pimped out the parking. Maybe they could have had tickets that , if validated, parking was free. Only do the validations for a couple of hours mid-game/event. Can't just decide to go play, have to see what's happening at the stadium. Maybe they will run shuttles downtown and p/u at the metro.

Are you allowed to bring in "outside" food into the casino?

Never had my backpack searched in Vegas but I definitely do not mind have security search at all...

One really bizarre thing is that horseshoe has no total rewards kiosks

All their kiosks are promotion kiosks. You can't check your points or tier credit
I saw a few next to the bar at the poker room.

The E-craps game is a newer version of Live, pretty much the same except limit is $2-$3000 total bet.

Put your card into any slot machine to check your status. You do not need to put in money, just the card.

Have no firsthand experience to verify that this is true, but according to the Shoe's website:

"We are also happy to announce free shuttle service from 4 p.m. ‐ 3 a.m. seven days a week from the Sheraton Inner Harbor and Hyatt Regency Baltimore."

Despite the fact that the Total Rewards site says both diamond and seven stars has priority poker seating, I was told I couldn't with my diamond card. I even showed them on the website and they said no. Anthony can you clarify?

Talk about fast customer service, I can clarify and say BOTH Diamond and Seven Stars do get priority. Now that is motivation enough!

My first two days here have been horrible all around... shocked by how green and unprepared the poker room seems despite it not even being busy. The staff and structure seems so far away from being acceptable. It's as if there were zero poker experience and next to no training. Started off as a comedy of errors and became a slow and painful experience. I felt embarrassed for them. It hardly seemed functional at times where there were just a handful of tables. Hope for their sake they can function in a few months.

The play was also extremely tight at all 8 tables I sat at. Place is spacious, that's about it. Not optimistic.

Shoe was nuts tonight. Tons of action and straddling to be had by all.

Dealers seemed hit or miss between vets and newbies.

Confident they will work out the kinks!

Parking section on the website lists all games where you'll have to pay for parking. It also includes this comment: "In addition, free parking is available on event days if you earn 100 tier credits or spend $150 in any of our restaurants."

I don't know how much poker you have to play to earn 100 tier credits, but according to the Total Rewards site, you earn 1 tier credit for every $5 in slot play and $10 in video poker play.

Anyone from the Poker Room able to verify the rate at which tier credits are earned?
