If you maintain a consistent win rate of ~ 20 BB/hour, MDL rakes 75% of your hourly, and the Shoe rakes 58%.

You can't beat the rake at these stakes, but you can't legitimately complain about the higher vig: it may be larger in an absolute sense (+$1), but it's a smaller rake relative to the blind structure.
This is the new new new math.

Lower the rake and they will come.

meh, obviously I would be in favor of a lower rake, but that example was lulz...If you wanted to do apples to apples you would do buy-in structure, as well as the fact that hours are going to be roughly similar in the two games unless one has a much deeper buy-in structure (due to the increased win-rates when a fish makes a 500BB mistake) (so to make up numbers to fit my argument 20/hr at 1/3 -7 rake = 13/hr and 19/hr at 1/2-6 =13hr) ...the rake is going to be high in 1/2-1/3 games unless you are in Vegas.

As for the Casino, I made my first trip up last night and enjoyed it, the room is nice and the staff friendly. While some are new overall I felt that they did a good job. I actually liked the room better than MD Live as far as ambiance, and at the end of the day (early AM) we had a very live table at 2/5 so no complaints as far as action. With that said, I don't know if I would make the extra 15 min past their competitor from VA (I'm lazy what can I say). Let's all just be happy that we are not stuck in an attic in WV where (at the time) the casino was the only game in town and didn't care about players.

Ive played in 59 poker rooms and this one is my favourite so far. Good action, cheap massages, excellent atmosphere, and the straddle option from any position is great for the games. The 2-7 bounty deepstack is fun and the plo plays huge. Its also nice that the total rewards comps are linked to so many locations across the country. The tables and chips are all clean and new.

Going 6-0 here so far doesnt hurt either.

So, is this 20+5 hour drawing promotion still going on? They haven't done a thing to promote it

You can take Rt. 40 thru the city or 95 to 695 in the direction of Towson, go around the Beltway (695) then take 95 North and Exit at Russell St. by the casino.

here's the 2nd question:
how much time do I add to my trip by trying to save the $4 toll?

About tree fiddy.

Or you could check out Google maps and find an optimal route.

Taking rt 40 is your best alternative by far. It adds about 10 minutes to your trip (on a good day - on a bad traffic day it'll add up to 30)

Google maps

I usually filter the gps to exclude tolls on my routes. Mostly local roads will work but will add some mileages.

Swim

Seriously, do not take 695 all the way around the west side. Take I 83 into Balt, and then turn right on Lombard Street and then left on Green Street which becomes Russell Ave

going all the way around the beltway to approach it from the south is a pretty interesting route.

The other way is to take 40 all the way in to Green Street and turn left. I would have no idea how fast this last set of directions would take. Although, google can probably give you and idea if you get it to go that way. You would get on to 40 from 95 South as you approach the city. Taking 40 is the most direct way. On a non traffic day, maybe it is better than I 83, who knows?

I see you already posted on Route 40. However the linked google map, outlines 95 or 895 both of which have tolls.

First day of tournaments tomorrow. Is there a big turnout expected? How many tables will be set aside for the tournament?

Are you really going to take the time/gas to come from Delaware - and then waste another 20-25 minutes (guess) on a detour through downtown - to avoid a $4 toll?

My guess is that at *best* its an extra 15 minutes. Worst case - 30 minutes+, so I'll average and say 20-25 minutes each way, maybe 45 minutes extra total. The question is are you better off spending the $8 and playing for an extra 45 minutes - or sitting behind the wheel for 45 more minutes and not playing. Only you can decide where the math works best.

Also the extra gas of 45 mins driving. Seems definitely not worth the detour.
