Do you really think you can beat a 20% rake on pots $39 or less, for any period of time more than a session or two?

Taking more money for promotions doesn't make the game uneatable. It just adds wild swings because winning high hands is even more swingy.

However you want to word it, more money is coming out of the pots, and at a higher percentage than any surrounding casino.
Point. Blank. Period.
This is a cost the player/customer endures and passed on as for "the betterment of the room and games."
Good luck winning when it's 5 handed and the cut is 3/3 while tipping a dollar every hand.
I will admit it looks like they are getting more traffic as a result, but at what cost? How sustainable is this long term?
Maybe I am beating a drum no one cares about /shrug

Its seems that Poker has changed into promotion central,
I think it forces the hand of smaller Poker Rooms to adjust to the unbalance that bigger rooms create by using their size to have larger promotional funds.
Poker players have no loyalty to their rooms and go for the bigger promos.

I cannot speak to the Shoe but every room I worked and played at in the mid Atlantic reason also took a reduction for the promotional drop when the rake was reduced. So it would likely be $3+1 with reduced rake (maybe $3+2) there.

Hshoe now requires mask but they don't have any to give out at the entrance podium.

Person in front of me didn't have a mask. Guard asked if he had one.
He said no and asked the guard if she had any.
She said no and he had to leave.

How much does a mask cost the casino?
Even if he gambles $20, they come out ahead in expected loss.

And you wonder why horseshoe is losing $$$...

Security at entrances not having and/or refusing to give out masks is probably top 10 dumbest **** I’ve seen horseshoe do, and that’s an impressive list

I have to use my $100 Diamond Celebration dinner by Jan 31.

There's only 5 restaurants left at Horseshoe?
https://www.caesars.com/horseshoe-ba...s#.YcaRrcnMJ6s

Jesus at the over priced Gordon Ramsey steak: https://www.caesars.com/content/dam/...mbinednov1.pdf

Wonder how many oz is their crab cake in their $150 preset menu:
https://www.caesars.com/content/dam/...menupreset.pdf

I have no problem spending an additional $50 in comps but Holy OVERPRICED Batman!

hm.. no pricing for their 2course 2021 Holiday dinner?
https://www.caesars.com/content/dam/...olidaymenu.pdf

Edit:
Google says Holiday dinner is $130.
probably going to do that unless someone has a better idea?

I'd just get a beef wellington, with an app and drink to get barely over 100. I wouldn't give them any more than necessary for the prices they are charging.

I play there a lot and they give you a mask at the entrance now. I did have a problem once and I called the Poker Room and the manager had a poker representative bring me a mask.

The Horseshoe Poker Room is getting much better, the room is much more comfortable to play in than Maryland live, better lighting more space between tables and comparable promotions.

The new Manager is making great changes to the room and business is picking up quite a bit.

One of the greatest poker rooms I’ve played in. Consider the fierce competition around the area I always seem to gradually end up here. The action is second to non and the high hand promotions are the best!

Horseshoe has got way better since a few years ago. New manager has made a lot of good changes (Better games/high hands, vending machines, hired more staff). The casino as a whole is getting better and also brought tournaments back as well. More work needs to be done but is going in the right direction. Best 1/3 action in the state. If you're looking for gamblers and not nitty players Horseshoe is where it's at

Interesting. I haven’t been in a long time but there definitely was better 1/3 action there and always liked the room/lighting etc. But between the rake and extra jackpot there is a ton coming out of the pots so action needs to be tremendous to make it worth it (is it confirmed the actual rake is five not six like before, plus 3 jackpot on 30 plus dollar pots?)

Very interesting that after the thread being inactive for a week, 3 positive reviews come in within the span of minutes from new accounts no less. That's not suspicious at all!

I mean come on guys, I appreciate the effort, but it would have been far better for the manager to show up, make the case for the room and deal with feedback.

Thx.
Got the Market Salad, crab meat soup, and beef Wellington:

$99 total.
tax removed when using the $100 Diamond voucher.
All was delicious.

The Market Salad (~$15) is about the same price as the Prime Rib's (Maryland Live) salads but tastes MUCH better!

From now on, every time i'm at the Shoe, I'm going to spend some comps and get the market salad. (to go so to save on the tip)

Piezetta and Tony Luke's probably the best food options among all 3 area casinos though?

Haven't been to horseshoe in a long time. Is piezetta still 2:1 comps? That ruined the value. Tony Luke's is good I remember

agrees if still 2:1.
shocked they're still in business unless the avg clientele doesnt mind paying double because you can put as many toppings as you would like on the pizza?

I 've never been to Tony Luke's but they are one of the top 2 or top 3 chesesteak chains in Philly. Also, obviously less upscale than Ramsay's.

As for 2 to 1, I dunno, it seems to me that all casinos have become stingier with their comps. I prefer getting something I like rather than something that's barely edible even if it's 1:1.

It looks like poker vloggers Wolfgang Poker and Close2Broke will be having a Meet Up Game on Sunday, April 24th from 2-7 PM.
If the thought of mixing it up with YouTube celebrities doesn't move the needle, apparently there will be a $300 High Hand bonus every 20 minutes.
