Sure, but they apparently didn't alter it until after it had started? That may be an issue. I mean, if it's not, what's to stop them from changing the rake from 10 or 15% to 50% halfway through a tournament? ...if they have the right to alter the tournament at any point, they could do that. Or just nix every missed guarantee right after it's missed, or right before the bubble.

Very curious to hear from the Horseshoe on this. It doesn't sound like something Vic would do, but I could easily see it happening when he wasn't around.

Yeah, I mean it can’t hurt to speak to a lottery agent, but the alter thing seems to give them a pretty large loophole.

Apparently the casino policy is that the guarantee is cancelled if fewer than eight players register prior to the beginning, but the announcement was not made to the table at the start (or at any other point until it was down to a few players), which was the "error." I told them their policy should be to always announce that before cards are in the air.

im going to be at the Horseshoe this fri to pick up a free gift.

Caesars has a new diamond lounge policy of requiring 25k tc to get in for free for some of their casinos.

anyone know if this applies to the Horseshoe?
(it will determine what time i go to pick up the gift.)

thx

Since there isn't any free food or drinks (I don't count the snacks on Fri/Sat), I can't imagine there being the elevated TC requirement at HS. Especially during Sun-Thu, where it's not busy at all and only has discounted drinks.

But who knows

Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino continues to see a decline in gaming revenue, generating $24.9 million in March 2018. That’s down nearly 8 percent from March of last year.
(All other md casinos were up.)

i was just there this weekend to pick up my annual diamond gift.
i usually take free slot play instead.
but this year, they gave Reward credits instead.

to convert RC to freeplay, it's 1/2 the amount.
ie: $40 RC = $20 free slot play

it seems like an Avalanche effect.
Horseshoe's revenue's decline so they make games worse and cut back on comps to maintain profit levels.

players see this and jump ship to other casinos, which leads to lower revenues, which leads to the casino further making the games worse and lessening the comps.

which leads to more and more players jumping ship to their competition (or stop gambling altogether and spend their entertainment $$$ on something else).

and if you look on Bravo, CharlesTown sometimes has more tables going then Horseshoe.

Yeah... I really like the location of Horseshoe & know the potential is Huge!!! It’s a shame. Curious to see how bad WSOP-C is this year

Perusing the job openings in Baltimore and came across the freshly posted listing for Poker Room Manager on Indeed. Looks like it's up on Caesar's site as well.

Has Victor hit the door too now?

Only two of the events have guarantees, right?

They just copy/pasted the job opening specs from their opening. Way to keep up on things, HS.

Reporting to the Director of Table Games, the Poker Manager will lead the floor install for the grand opening as well as the ongoing operation of Poker at Horseshoe Baltimore.

Yes think just the 250k multi-day opener and the main event. Other venues guarantee almost every Event. But I’m likely to play the monster stack and try to satty in on the cheap.

Going to a conference next week in Baltimore, staying downtown, Horseshoe looks like a couple miles away - go there for the 1/3 and 2/5 games, or go to Maryland Live, or somewhere else?

Are you from the area generally? If not, how often do you get to play poker and what is/are your home room(s)? How long will you have to play? Will you have a car?

If you're staying "downtown" (i.e. at the harbor) then it's probably walking distance (if you don't mind a 1-ish mile walk.)

1/3 will be available for sure; 2/5 more reliable at Live. If you've got a car, and a few days to kill, I'd say give them both a try as they definitely have different offerings, vibes, ups and downs. With a car, the trip to Live is easy and <15 mins from the Shoe.

You can read ITT for the various struggles that the Shoe has had of late. Expect generally poorer service there, especially at the cage. And the bonuses are subpar (or non existent) relative to Live. (and I think they have a $6 rake now? blechhh..)

However, the games can be generally juicy, so as a 1-night stand, it's worth a jaunt.

I'd play the first night at Horseshoe. If you are happy with your experience the first night, return to Horseshoe. If not, take an Uber to Live.

Depending on the nights, it's a pretty good bet that you'll find 2/5 at the Horseshoe, but not a guarantee.

I wouldn't recommend walking through the area between downtown/the Inner Harbor and the Horseshoe, though. I think some of those hotels run a shuttle to the Horseshoe (check here: https://www.caesars.com/horseshoe-baltimore/hotel), or get an Uber.

So this is a Total Rewards/Caesars thing, not a Horseshoe Baltimore thing, but I got an e-mail today that I'm losing my free Diamond Lounge access for not yet earning 6K tier credits this year. It no longer matters that I had enough tier credits last year to have Diamond status through January 2019...

You now need to have 25K tier credits for Diamond lounges, not 15K, and you get measured against your pace quarterly... Fall behind and no Diamond Lounge for you! (You can still go in, but you have to pay.)

I'm not sure how this will all apply to the faux Diamond lounge at the Horseshoe.

Hey Horseshoe!

Will there be satellites to the WSOP Main Event (Rio, not circuit) this spring or early summer. The step satellites that ran in 2016 were pretty sweet.

Thanks

Since were into mid-April now and the schedules are out, and it’s less than 2 weeks until the circuit starts I would think they’re not doing it this year. But... it’s horseshoe Baltimore so who knows

Apparently the Diamond Lounge has changed its name to VIP lounge and no charge to enter for any Diamond, regardless of tier points.

but are there still free appetizers on fri and sat night?
