Giada has a restaurant in Vegas at the Cromwell. Upscale Italian. Very good but seems like a strange option for The Horseshoe. Should be interesting to see how it performs.

ugg.. changing casual Mexican johhny sanchez to upscale Italian?
they expect the clientele around Baltimore to improve over the next 2-3 years?

am I the only one to expect prices to go up in Ramsey's steak restaurant vs the already high prices of Binions?

I agree the J Sanchez Happy hour was great but they do need an Italian Joint....and yes I def expect the prices to go up. I think there trying to start moving out the rifraf through different means... just my opinion. Also the casino isnt under the " must hire 75%" within the city which should help customer service over the coming year.

lol.. what alternate means is Baltimore using vs the rifraf?

I thought it was 50% hires must be from Baltimore?
anyway, how did Horseshoe get out of that clause?

They have hired Additional Sec & more feet on the casino floor. Also they've slowly raised some Drink prices. Also I was told the first 2 years it had to be 75% & then drop to xxxx but when MGM opened it apparently nixed that stuff. Either way the new mgt team seems to be headed in right direction.

I didn't think drinks were that cheap in the 1st place (expect in the diamond lounge)?

didnt know there's new mgmt.
hopefully the new mgmt. team brings back 9/6 'Jacks or Better' video poker, like Horseshoe had in the 1st 2years it opened.

any word on how they're going to bring players back to the poker room?

I agree with the drink prices & the video Poker.... the poker Mgr said they will have some better promotions but they are definitely behind the 8ball as far as promotions because Live got a 18month jump start on them. Live. It have a 1-1.4mil promo budget where-as HB would have 400-500k per year. The new management has flooded some of the money into the program for promotions. I think that will be how.

Was about 4 1/3, 2 3/6, and 1 5/5 at 3pm and stayed that way til after 9pm.
Side note that the 5/5 was a heads-up match at that point.

Got some players after the O's game got ugly, but still a ghost of what it was when it opened.

Bravo is showing that you can upgrade to diamond status if you play 150 hours each month for July, August, and September.

Does anyone have any details on how this works? It seems as if you get double tier credits (34 instead of 17) per hour playing poker to get 5100 tier credits for each month × 3 would get you to the 15000 required for diamond status.

Is the a special thing at Horseshoe only? Also, since I can rarely get there I'd never be able to do this but for those that do play there regularly, have you been getting 34 tc per hour this month?

I think they used to give out 34tc when the first opened. People were able to fly up the tiers. I believe Caeser's P does something similar in Vegas. Sounds like a decent promo Imo. Doubt it effects any other TR properties unless advertised

I don't believe I've been getting that rate in the past couple times I've been. Or maybe I just haven't gone as much as I think. Maybe it just multiplies at the end of the promotion period? I've not been keeping a super eye on it though, I could be wrong. If I go soon I'll keep an eye on it now that I know where I'm at.

it is 17 per hr in poker, $1 per hr.
you get an extra 125 TC if you earn 1000 TC in a gaming day, extra 1000 TC if you earn 5000 TC in a day

Went to the 'shoe after O's game for the first time in ages... room felt a little dead. (But then again so did the O's pitching that night.)

Dealers were friendly & efficient, desk was good, no complaints on the game itself (although was unfortunate to be at a headphone-reg-infested table, while friend was at a high-action table.)

However... for the love of god the cashout process is still a nightmare. I've never been to this place when it didn't take 10min+ to get the hell out of there at the main cage. Even had to wait when only 1 person was in line, because the Diamonds keep coming and take priority.

Just leaves a crappy taste in your mouth when you get frustrated as your last experience in the place.

Oh, one last parting shot: signs say that starting 9/1 (today) $2 is going into the jackpot drop. Didn't see any change posted about rake, so I guess that means price of poker is going up in the city.

Agreed and understood. I just wish there were service levels like this:

Gold - OK
Diamond - Superb

instead of this:
Gold - Terrible
Diamond - OK

Protip that I learned from some Horseshoe regs: Just go to the Diamond line. They never check.

Not true. They do check especially when it's busy and the regular line and diamond line both have a lot of customers waiting

I think by confirming the new rake, you're letting us know you play there.
