It wouldn't be. Short buy-ins protect the fish by making them go broke more slowly.

Maybe for your style, but I think HP's 5/5 game is great just the way it is. Changing it to a straight $500 buyin would make it perfect.

But I hear what you are saying; I hate the 60-200bb game at Hustler. You end up with someone short buying for 20bb's, and another guy at the table has 600bb's. Makes for a wonky dynamic.

I think those that are expecting the stadium to boost business for the cardroom are in for a rude awakening. On game days, nobody other than people going to the game will be around (casual poker players will avoid the area completely), and I wouldn't expect them to be hanging around before or after to play cards. Access and traffic to the stadium is going to be a nightmare (the new Metro stop is two miles away, and LOL at shuttles being the cure). Traffic around there is terrible enough when something is going on at the Forum, which is 1/3 the size. And they'll probably be charging $20 to park the car at the cardroom.

The new facility is open. Too bad they haven't hired an entirely new staff or changed the menu or the disgusting chips. At least the urinals in the men's room are working.

Usual crowd as well or attracting some new players?

If anyone stops by and could let us know how many 5/10 games and whether there's any PLO that'd be much appreciated! 👊🏼

Games super dead and pro infested, better off at commerce IMO... the "new casino" really screwed everything up. Turns out being a "nice venue" is not good for actions

Lots of grinder backpack nits

Nice venue.. Very upscale look.

Re: PLO games... The day I went, they had a 100-300 PLO/plo8 mix game going.. Didn't play in it, but it was running.

Usually at least 2 5/10 games going. This afternoon around 5 there were 4.

Any recent experiences on this poker room? Will be be staying near there later this week, and trying to determine if I should skip it and drive to Commerce?

Played a session here today, I usually play at the bike, 5/5 NL, the game plays smaller here. Management is chaos, I requested 5/5 and they seat me on 5/10. And got into altercations several times due to ridiculous reasons.
One guy was chewing bubble gum right in my face, making loud sounds too, I said do you mind sir, he said yes, and continued.
The other guy, clearly drunk, got to the table 1 in the morning and started spewing money, called a 3bet and back raise all in with 65o and lost. I wasn't in the hand but saw the board, shocked out of my mind, but got berated by this guy because I wasn't in the hand. Lol what?
Young kid probably accidentally threw 10 into an unopened pot, I confirm with the dealer if it's a raise or not, got berated again for slowing the game down.
Old lady, playing terrible, sees my raise, and starts berating me once again for bluffing all the time.

The upside? I usually play with at least one pro and one or two somewhat good reg at the 5/5 at the bike, here there is none. Average player is atrocious, lots of money to be made for sure but is it worth it? I don't know. Probably not

Not many games, but lots of action. The 5/5 @ commerce seems like a nit-fest. At HP, it's half maniacal. Hawaiian Gardens has a decent 5/5 going on $600 max bi.

Yeah, it's frustrating that they don't seem to have any list of games. I get that Bravo is expensive so fine, don't subscribe, but posting them at least daily, ideally in real time, on the website would be nice.

I played there a few times in the past couple of years. 20/40 OE was running most nights with the craziest damn rules I've ever seen (basically a tiny kill that's just the small bet and a large kill that's a real kill) and was pretty good. 40/80 no kill O8 was running most nights and was reeeeeeeeal juicy for the stakes.

I think I played a little NLHE and PLO and they were soft for the stakes. Anyway, would love an update if anyone can give it.

It would be interesting to look at benchmarks (I'm sure mgmt has). Rivers in Pittsburgh is right next to Heinz Field. I think Detroit may have a similar situation with Greektown/Ford Field and Comerica Park. I'm sure there are other examples.

My best guess is yes, some people will come for football and stay for poker because the target demographic overlaps. Being in the Pacific tz helps a lot since the only start times after 1pm are SNF and MNF and even those games are over by 9. If parking is of concern to grinders, the obvious solution is to show up at the end of the game as people are leaving.

In Cleveland the casino is next to the stadium and arena, and a lot of people go to the casino during and after sporting events.

I am interested to see which way it turns out in Inglewood, but remain skeptical that it will bring a flood of gameday business. It's not the same downtown/easily-accessible-by-transit situation- the new stadium will mostly be reached by car, and other than the cardroom there's not another thing around that people will want to stay for. Very different situation in downtown Cleveland, Detroit or Pittsburgh or really anywhere that there's foot traffic.

Also, the traffic around that stadium is going to be epic even by LA standards. It's terrible enough just with the Forum, which has 1/4 the capacity the stadium will.

Anyone know if HP still has mid limit or higher high low or mixed games? And I assume there is no way to see what’s running there besides call? Is it same at Hawaiian gardens?
