What are the min/max buyins for the 1/2 & 2/5 NL games? Heading up there this week for a couple days to check out the new room and looking forward to finally playing in an Ohio casino.

I've never seen a player allowed to put out chips and immediately come back for more. Everywhere I've played they have a word for that - a string raise.

Now, if you say "Raise" and put out the amount for the call, then come back to put out the raise amount, that's different, but that still has to be assembled in your staging area - before the bet line - and then put into the pot.

It is a string raise. It's just that the room has a policy that dealers do not call string raises, a player has to call it.

Het Bats. How's the O8 game?

I'm not playing 3/6 O8. The 5/10w/kill at Dollar King is pretty great. We are going to move it to the casino if/when DK closes. I'm hearing mixed reports on when that is. Anyway, the game is at about 5:30pm on Wednesdays, and for now, only runs until midnight.

I'm interested in playing O8 or even limit hold'em more often as long as it's higher than 3/6. I would be willing to play anything 4/8 through maybe 8/16. If you are interested in those games, start the list and let me know.

You really think DK will close? I know the casino is hurting them badly but it's only been open for a few weeks and it's summer. For right now they are surviving mostly on the donkament traffic that charity casinos get and I could see them losing one of the two charities but once the initial casino rush fades away it will be interesting to see if a lot of their locals go back there more frequently again.

I'll have better info this evening after the O8 game. If there's any actual facts, I will report them.

Went for second time yesterday. Recent reports of good dealers is very true. 100% improvement from first visit. They had 3/6 limit LHE/O8 rxr going and a list for 5/10 O8 but game didn't start while I was there. Fishy 2/5NLHE. wish you could buy in for more though. They say you get 50 cents an hour but card read zero after myplay. Will probably start going weekly. See u there.

Most of the dealers were better on my visit the other day but a few mistakes were made and one dealer didn't have a clue what to do when someone left who was in the blinds I had to tell him when it was small small big, big big,etc... One time he looked at mean and was like "It's this correct" and I said yes when I should of said "You tell me your the dealer".

I guess the cards don't update right away in their system when you check their kiosk from what I've been told but I'm not sure I didn't pick one up until 4am the other night when their was no line on my way out of the casino.

afaik, they still aren't giving anything to poker players, though they are tracking it, and are supposed to back-pay. Someone told me that 50c/hr was a rumor spread by management to see if they can get away with that instead of $1. It's kind of ridiculous.

Everything else seems to be going pretty smoothly though. I almost never have to wait for a seat, the games are typically good, and most of the crappy dealers have been weeded out. There are only a few stragglers remaining.

24/7

It all depends on the day of the week but even most weekdays so far from what I've seen their are a few tables still running at 4:30am during the week and more on weekends. The slowest time of the day is probably 6am-10am where only 1 or 2 tables of 1/2 are running at that time.

No, but I was in the room playing on another table at the time.

It hit about 5pm and was quad 6s hitting on the river over a flopped quad 3s.

We heard screaming and figured it was that then it was announced a few minutes later that it hit.

I played today. Id say overall it was a good experience. The dealers not so great. On one hand the dealer completely skipped my bb and i didnt have to post one. On another hand the dealer closed the hand prematurely. One guy was HU and still had cards and was gonna call on a flush draw. They called the floor and the guy on the flush draw forfeited the hand. Another hand one guy made a string bet and the dealer just warned him and explained the rule. They changed dealers every 30 minutes and it was always a smooth process. I will most likely be heading back . Btw the casino is beautiful and i think you will enjoy your time. good luck!

A Detroit regular who had come down for the first time was the quad 6s winner of the Bad Beat hand. She won over $14k. From what I hear, she has been at bad beat tables many many times. Must be nice.

Just for a contrary view. Played a short session Sunday and it was the worst players I've seen at 1/2 I can remember. My favorite hand...2 limpers I raise to 15, 4 callers. King high flop, limper bets out, I fold.. button raises and bettor calls. HU on turn check/check, river check/check and both turn over AK. I had to leave for a soccer party but games are goood.

This is what I've been told but I've played a few sessions and my card still says it has a zero balance on it.

From table talk the other night someone was saying when you go to a restaurant they can check it for you and you can still use your poker comps that way but someone else was saying while that is true their balance was extremely low if they were supposed to get .50c/hr so who knows.

No, I heard a few random things but late August is probably when but I think they are waiting to see when the cash game traffic goes down since most weeknights they are filling at least 13-15 tables during peak hours and weekend nights it's like 18-20 tables.
