I had a few dealers tell me over the weekend that they are working on getting a bad beat jackpot. I think they are waiting on state approval. If that changed the rake to $4+$1, I'd be OK with it, but I'm not looking forward to paying $5+$1 rake.

Peace,
Dave

I went Friday night 3/8 for a few hours. I called ahead to get my name on 1/2 and 2/5, and when I got there my name was only on the 2/5 list. I talked to the manager who put me right to the top of the 1/2 list. Classy move.

Some of the dealers were moonlighting DP dealers and some were just deer in the headlights. Also the cage set up is annoying. My cashier bless her heart literally was counting down chips to stacks of 5 before giving cash. Not how a poker player would either.

Poker players tend to be overly critical myself included all in all I am very excited about having this option for live poker.

Why do Perryville and CT cap 2/5 buy ins at $500. So annoying. Is this a regulated thing or the casino? Borgata does too and it sucks.

It promotes 1/2 players to move up faster. Also allows casinos to sustain a 5/10 (like borgata) which I don't see them ever getting. Example... the other day we were about to break the 2/5 there were three grinders and two spots at the table. We broke the two fish and we were gonna break the game but we talked a couple of 1/2 players to sit with 200-300 which they wouldn't have done had it been $1000 max.

Wait, what is the rake now? 5+0? Seriously doubt they would go to 4+1.

bw, luv has some good insights here. The healthiest games usually are the ones with relatively low caps for the reasons luv said. 1k max at 2/5 allows for short-term gains for better players, but a more shallow cap is good for longevity.

Anyone know if there are 2/5 games on weeknights? Thinking of going tomorrow evening if time permits.

Bravo live has all the games they have going no way to tell but 2/5 has been pretty consistent

All week, I've been watching the Bravo poker app / web site to see what games are going at Perryville. It seems pretty consistant that there will be only 1 1/2 NL table that lasts through the night. As the day go on, new games are added. By mid afternoon it seems like there is usually one 2/5 NL game going along with several (up to 5) 1/2 NL games. That usually leaves one table empty, for whatever other game people want to play.

The only day this week I saw the 3/6 LHE game go was Tuesday. Today (Thursday), I saw lists for 5/10 NL, 1/2 PLO, 5/5 PLO, and 4/8 "poker" (which I think is O/8 but they can't get that to display on Bravo). I think I saw 1/2 PLO running today, according to Bravo, but not too long. I haven't see any of the other games go today, but I've seen up to 5 or 6 on just about each of those lists at some point during the day today.

They have said they will spread any game that they get people who want to play. It looks like they are getting some people interested in games other than NL Hold'em, but not quite enough to start a table.

I don't think 1/2 PLO was running but sometimes they have more 1/2 NL games listed then are listed on Bravo. I've seen at least 2 tables except for the very wee hours of the morning.

Chances of getting a 4/8 or 3/6 limit game going?

3/6 has usually been running while I've been there; not sure how much luck you'd have with 4/8

3/6 did not go today; even though the interest list was at 11, they opened another 1/2. Drawback of having such a small room. Also, cage is a mess. Took me 20 minutes to buy chips, with only 2 people in line before me.

Guess I shouldn't complain though since i left up a buyin.

Was in last night into this morning and I heard from one of the poker room managers that they are going to get an extra 2 tables very soon. After they open those tables, they will also be expanding the room to an additional 10 tables for a total of 20. They are going to remove the slot machines directly adjacent to the bar and poker room to make room for the tables.

Did they say anything about not having to walk a mile to buy in and cash out?

I did not inquire about the cashier. Last weekend when I was there I had to wait about 15 minutes @ around 7PM to cash out, but this time around I didn't have to wait at all since it was only 12PM.

Walk a mile?!?!? What? The casino is the tiniest thing in the world. If you can't get from the poker room to the cage in under a minute, well, there's a problem, and its not the cage's location.

lrn2sarcasm imo - I could give a **** about having to bang out a 5k to get my first BI, but I don't much like the prospect of old man coffee choosing blackjack over poker because of the walk to the cage. This is a mandatory fix if they're going to expand to 12+ tables.

And honestly, if I were HC Perryville management, I wouldn't go past 12 tables (up to the rumored 20) unless it's super easy to pull out poker tables and put slots back in their place.

It may seem crazy busy now, but Perryville is going to end up like Harrington in DE and be a ghost town once ML and Harrah's Baltimore open. Great staff and the dealers have potential, but there's no way this room has staying power located where it is.

I had the chance to check this room out last night and was happy with what I saw.
Called ahead and got on the list was placed on about 30th, I was told it would be about an hour and a half.. perfect as I'm a little over an hour away... got there and was seated within 10 minutes. Nice tables/chairs, large tv's all around. Dealers were slow and inexperienced as expected (this will get better, most showed potential and all had good attitudes).
I for one hope they don't expand too much.. maybe 2 more tables would be perfect. As is the room is easily managed by the 1 or 2 floors on duty and they have a good handle on the room... add 10 more tables and you have all the issues of a large room (seats not getting filled, floor calls taking 5 minutes, people seating themselves etc..)
I like the small room feel. Plus as previous people said as soon as md live opens and the novelty of the new room wears off they will slow down dramatically and wont need it.

My only slight complaint is the noise level... this has to be the loudest room i've played in..

all in all... action is great there and I will definitely be back

Checked it out today

Dealers were nice but inexperienced

The dealer racks have over 5k, with 2k in black but not enough white. Dealer told floor she needed white asap. Nothing happened. Players gave her white so we could play

No comp for now. They do need a poker cage .. or allow first buyin at the table

There were lots of blacks in play yesterday, even at 1/2.

Dealers didn't seem bad or slow...recognized 1 from DP...

And for gods sake mets get your dorky baseball avatar back.
