Poker rooms are labor intensive .. and if there's one thing that CV (re)taught companies .. labor costs suck. And unfortunately the bean counters had ample opportunity to review costs during CV and I'm sure that poker wasn't scene in a very good light. Profitable? Perhaps, but at a much higher operating cost than other gaming opportunities.
Our local room had 10 goals to meet each year, typically blasting away 9 of them. The one goal that could never seem to satisfy the bosses .. residual gaming. Meaning poker players played poker, and nothing else. Even tracking their wives/family/friends didn't produce the 'desired' side affect.
Anywhere you have 'more' humans you have to have 'coverage' .. surveillance, direct labor costs, higher security issues .. even the cost of cage practices. Companies are taking the thin cost approach to 'more efficient' profits. Perhaps some day when profits level out they will come back to customer service, so to speak. GL
I haven't looked at their website in years but, without a definite starting date, they do say, "Poker will be located outside of The Sportsbook with 6 tables available Friday-Sunday."
They're also advertising for dealers. "Poker Dealer Will Keep All Accrued Tips." If I'm not mistaken, previously the dealers had to pool their tips.
That's too bad .. I'm sorry(?) to report that the casino in Milwaukee is finally reopening post-CV poker in May .. and they have a much larger market than yours.
I'm sorry that you don't have poker back yet, but I'm also reporting that there's still hope for you as a much larger market is 'finally' getting back on the poker trail. GL
The website now has posted August 1st as the grand opening date. Looks like the room will be where it was before open Friday-Sunday from what the site says.
I went up this evening and looks like they have all new tables and chairs and that the room is ready to open soon, so I'd say the August 1st date is probably pretty accurate.
Played the last couple of weekends here and the soft launch seems to be going pretty well. Great to have live poker back in central PA again. Looking forward to the full Grand Opening August 1st!

Me too. Gonna meet friends Friday night out there and see if I can get on a table.
The 11 table room is open from 12PM to 4AM on a Saturday, but they only have 6 dealers working from 12PM to 6PM. LOL Plus will only ever open one 2-5 table, even when the list is long and a table is open. They just open another 1-3 instead. Had high hopes for this opening but so far I'm disappointed. Hoping for improvements.
