Anyone playing the $1K HOSE on 8/12? I am thinking about making the drive to play.

It's rare instances like this where I wish I never moved from Cincy.

Was there yesterday, half the room was full. Plenty of $3/6 limit, $1/3 NL. $2/5 NL, $1/3 PLO and $2/5 PLO, $5/10 Omaha H/L w/ full kill in the high limit room.

I just got back from a short trip to Hollywood. Overall I was impressed but some of the dealers needed a little work. In general the games were very soft. A 2-5-10 NL Holdem game went off on Thursday night with some pretty big donaters. Thats the first time I've ever seen that particular structure, but it essentially played like a deep 2/5 game with a mandatory straddle to pump up the action.

FWIW--The $500 NL on Thurs had 65 runners. I played in a $1k HORSE during the '07 Circuit Event down in Louisville (which has much more limit action than Argosy/Hollywood) . . . and that event drew like 42 runners.

Over/Under on the 8/12 event is 12 . . .

Can't tell. It's semi-regular with this tournament going on, but will probably be weekends only, if that, the rest of the time. But that's just a guess. Too soon to tell really. But about 25 to 30 players rotated thru a 1-3 PLO table on Friday over a four or five hour stretch that I was there, which is a great sign.

That was Friday. Yesterday (Saturday) there was just the 2/5 game going. They tried to open 1/3 but it never went. The 2/5 game played very deep and there was a ton of action. I'd say the averge stack was 3k. Almost every hand was straddled to 10 and one guy kept blind raising to 30 when he was after the straddle. The table stayed full until about 2 am and was seven handed when I left around 4 am.

It looks like it's going to be a regular thing at least on the weekends.

Washington Mike,

I'll take the over and say there will be 30.

Tried at every table up there last Wed. and Thursday night to get a Yanks to sweep this series prop bet. Couldn't get it. Hope the Sox win tonight to ease the pain.

God bless you. LOL. But it was just a correction for the absurdity of Boston being 8-0 versus the Yanks while, they, the Red Sox, stagger back into the pack as a franchise and the Yanks go back to the top. Seriously, I made a real mistake here. I haven't bet a baseball game in years, though I follow closely, and I just didn't make a good enough effort to get action. I put it out over several tables starting at 10-1 and dropping eventually to 5-1, nobody bit, and I just didn't follow up. I had the play and it was beautiful.

I was there this weekend, played mostly 1/3 NL and some 2/5 PLO, I've only played live in STL so I don't really have much to go on. I would say that the big PLO game is definitely tougher in STL but that the 1/3 NL is tougher/tighter than the 1/2 NL in STL (obv sample size isn't the same)

Which guy at the table were you? I was there briefly from about 1am to 330am. I was the guy with the goatee and cubs hat sitting to the right of the crazy bulldog. Very soft game.
