Glad you had fun and profit! It's nice little poker room we have here, IMO. A few thoughts on your experience from a "reg" here.

Pretty accurate. At 1/2, the straddle is extremely common, way too much so for my tastes but hey, it induces action. And also correct that we have our share of OMGs waiting for a hand, which I don't mind, usually makes for an easy fold. There are few of us playing exploitative poker against these types that it makes for a consistently profitable opportunity, and also few enough of us where we recognize each other and are able to move to a different table if you find yourself sitting with 6 other players you know on a first name basis, and know to be good, lol.

Absolutely; the restricted hours are also the result of short staff (not open 24/7), at least at the start. I doubt they'll go back to true 24/7 as it wasn't profitable to keep the room open from, say, 4-7 a.m. with one table full of zombies going. They just got a new class done and the rookie dealers have started, which makes for some interesting 30 minute sessions, but overall they are doing quite well and settling into it.

When they first opened in 2012 you could buy drinks with chips, but they changed to just cash shortly after that. Word is it wasn't a casino preference but rather some kind of state gaming commission rule, but I don't know for sure.
