I don't make it in as much as I used to, so others can predict better than me.. but there should definitely be a 2/2 PLO game going Friday afternoon/evening, sometimes 2 tables. $500 max buy-in, and stacks often get pretty deep. But some times it's kind of meh.

Used to get 5/5 PLO on most weekends, but I don't think its running as much these days?

Well, my night at Hollywood turned was great. I got into a 1/2 game around 1 p.m. and won $100. What a nitty/passive table, though. Fun, nice people, but limp/call all day long -- and most raises were only to $7. I had a great time, though.

Finally started a 2/2 PLO game around 3:30 (I think). Not much action in the beginning, but it got good quickly. Two Asian guys (one older and one younger) ran a lot of the action -- plus a guy from India or Pakistan? I'm terrible with knowing where people are from. Lots of re-buys from these guys, though.

Met a fellow 2+2er or two, but they didn't give me their monikers, although I was fine sharing mine.

Ended up $2,900 (that includes the $100 from NLHE ) at about 1:30 a.m. when the game finally broke. Pretty happy about it. Wish I could go back tonight -- maybe we'll make it after our dinner.

BTW, one terrible thing about Hollywood Columbus when we were there is they were taking a $2/pot promo drop but the promo is not for a few weeks. So, we were paying $2/pot for a promo many of us would never see.

For those wanting to test their PLO skills in a different neighborhood ...

... Gun Lake is holding a PLO tournament on September 28th at Noon. $250/210 (15K chips, 30 min levels), 2 re-entries if needed with surrender option as well as an optional $100/90 (10K chips) add-on at the end of Level 4 (end of registration). A last minute late reg/re-entry (with add-on) will still garner you 41.5bb at 300/600.

It's a bit of a drive and I know Saturdays are a fall holiday in Ohio, but if you do want to check out a newer poker room that will have plenty of cash going as well ($200 hourly High Hands starting at 3PM) this is a good weekend to do it. GL

Any thoughts on the promotion listed for Friday 27th and Sunday 29th? "Any unpaid high hand prizes throughout the month shall be equally distributed to all high hands on September 27th and 29th to increase the prizes as originally posted for those dates." Is that going to be a big deal or just meh?

It probably has to do with how the Promo was written up and presented to the Ohio Gaming Board. There may be a min and max amount of promo money that must be given out and by redistributing the funds evenly across the HH board it's more likely that those funds will be awarded to someone and 'comply' with the Promo requirements.

As far as a big deal? Hard to imagine that a HH didn't hit in 30 days, but we have a Club Royal in our room that hasn't hit in 55 days. GL

Maybe someone will win the money they dropped from our pots that we had no way to win back the nights we were there!

Hi Everyone,

I wasn't sure of the best forum to post this in so I thought I'd give this thread a shot. Two friends and I are looking to do an overnight poker trip 3-4 hours away in a couple weeks. Important things we need are sports betting and preferably an attached hotel to the casino. We all live in Cbus so I'm thinking casinos in Indiana, WV, and PA should be in play.

Initially we were just going to do Hollywood Lawrenceburg but I've been sporadically checking their Bravo and it doesn't seem great pokerwise. HSI looks pretty good but it's a little further away. We won't be playing anything above 1/2, 1/3 but I don't wanna be stuck at a casino where the poker room isn't open or they only have one or two 1/2 games running on a Sunday.

Between Rivers, Meadows, Wheeling Island, Lawrenceburg, HSI, or any other close places, do any of you have a preference?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Rivers will have 8-12 1/3 tables going on a Sat night with 2-4 stacks of $1200+ at each table ... no need for higher stakes in that room according to locals. And then if you want to stop at Meadows on your way back then so be it. GL

Hollywood Lawrenceburg was maybe the best casino for poker in the KY/IN/OH area back in 2010-2012 or so, even hosted a WPT event a couple years. However as you can tell from Bravo, there's not much action now. I haven't been there in a couple of years (so this might have changed), but they have since moved the poker room to be basically just a section instead of having its own "room". I feel like most of the action moved once Jack Cincinnati opened.

I’ve noticed this room really showing favoritism to particular players. I’m top of the list and an old dude comes in. He is probably here every day. They put him ahead of me. BS if you are supposed to have a first come first serve policy and don’t allow call ahead.

He might have had a "VIP" or "Producer" card or something like that based on frequent play, which lets you jump the line, or at least used to. Not call-ahead. Which is fine; I don't know a casino on the planet that doesn't reward frequent gamblers with all kinds of such perks.

Every great Hollywood promotion:

Floor, for weeks in advance: "Yeah, it's going to be a great promotion on Friday, starts at noon but it's going to be packed so GET HERE EARLY!"

Day of promotion.....

Floor, to 50+ patrons who arrived early: "Sorry, we won't have any additional dealers until 10...."

Well done, Hollywood, got me again.

Had a similar conversation Wednesday. Floor told me they told literally hundreds and hundreds of players to show up at 10 for the noon promotion and maybe it would be a good idea to show up at 9 to get a seat.

Well I guess those floor were right. Probably a good day to show up p early even if I t only got you onto the list. Why not bring dealers out at 7am so they are burned up halfway through the promo. I am sure if they did that we would hear the same people b****ing

I get that, it's just odd that they never even ran at full capacity, only ran 28/34 tables all day with 200 on the list. Not enough dealers, perhaps. Just kind of a dumb promotion in general to create havoc for 1 day, rather than increase long term traffic. But then, I'm not a promotion scientist or anything.

This poker room is stupid. I was playing, winning a lot of money, like I always do. Anyhow, donkey limps from UTG with 93o. I raise on button with AKo. Flop is K93r. He bets. I raise, he calls. Turn he leads, I call. River he bets I call. I critique his donkey play. Now here's where things gets interesting. He threatens me, which in the state of Ohio, is a crime. I call the floor. In their wisdom, the floor warns the entire table. So, 7 guys who have nothing to do with this dispute, get warnings. Anyhow, every hand I play after that the guy makes smart as comments about my playing. Finally I call the floor to ask that he stop as we have been warned. They kick me out. While I'm talking to the security manager the idiot walks by and invites me outside to fight. Security hear this. at no point did they ever ask him to leave.

Judging from your choice of screen name and even from your description it sounds like you started it...so I'm guessing there is another side to this story.

Just a wild guess.
