That has not been my experience (sample size 2 visits, 2 tables, 1/2NL). While there have been a few tight players, they are easy to spot, and by far not the majority of players.

The only time I've been at a truly nitty table was the first night. I've been there four times since, and the overall action on each table has traveled the spectrum from good, to insane for 1/2.

There are only two hands where there are extra blinds, then the game reverts to normal. No one has it six times.

^^

Nice turtles!

I was there Sunday night. I saw a few shark tank "regulars" but everyone I didn't know was pretty fishy. I have to "+1" to the dealers being awful. I know they're learning, and I know my sample size was small as I had a rotation of the same 4 dealers (weird?), but they were slow, incorrect, and nervous as hell. There were times I think the hand would be stuck in an infinite 'deer in the headlights' stare if it wasn't for the players verbalizing what needs to happen next (change for any bets). I left after a couple hours as I couldn't take it. I'll try it again when my school load dies down.

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

The first couple nights I was there playing 1/2 was uber nitty. Saturday evening/night seemed to be a little better as far as action. $10 to $12 preflop raises multi-way to the flop pretty frequently. Unfortunately I took 3 3outers in a 90min span, and the final one I was beraided (sp?) by a player not even in the hand for checking the river with the nut flush after my opponent spiked a 3 out boat. Told me how much of an idiot I was until my opponent tabled his winning hand. Needless to say that was just enough to tilt me trememdously and it was all down hill from there. I know noone here cares but I just needed to vent. lol

All in all the room is improving, but the rake is just scary. Does anyone know how the action has been at the Tank or Gemini? Ive heard Gemini was pretty dead but not sure about the Tank.

So seats 4 and 5 never have to post a button blind? How is that fair?

From the chatter I've been hearing, the Tank has been having 2+ tables open consistently.

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

been there 6 times already. most of my tables have had pretty good action. ive had two pretty tight tables but i was easily able to switch my table so it was no big deal. action isnt as great as say gemini but its pretty good. i would rate action as a 5/10 with gemini being a 7/10 for reference

Almost any casino will let you do this unless you're at a "must move" table (this is how they do it at the Tank, for reference).

That's what the red dots represent, small blind and big blind, 2 and 4 respectively.

Anyone know if you can phone in and get your name on the list? I've seen the list on weekend nights and it can be insane. Thanks.

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

I went last night and had a decent experience with the dealers other than the first one at my table. He had trouble figuring out who was in the blinds as well as giving people the correct change back. Table was made up of a few tight players but for the most part it was easy money.

How bad was insane? I was in Hammond at the Horseshoe - waitlists were 150 each - it took 4+ hours to get a seat. How does it compare?

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

No excuse almost 2 weeks in if a dealer don't know where blinds are it should be auto termination.....what the difference between a bad dealer conducting a gambling situation or a investment banker who has zero clue what he doing...

I'm sure he went to school for at least a month so if u don't know blinds get him out....cruel but correct

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

10000 percent correct.....if a dealer can't take the time 2 weeks in to know what and where blinds are(and if u don't know or play poker where do u come up with idea to work as poker dealer) and or make change after dealing 800 hands dealing poker isn't for that person

I'm sick and tired of dealers who refuse to improve and have little or no respect for people gambling with money they work hard for....I'm sorry but if can't get blinds rite u need to move to another department

You don't have to tip them if you don't want to, but there wouldn't be any dealers left if they just "auto-terminated" them every time they made a mistake.

Re: Hollywood Casino (Columbus, Ohio)

I understand people making mistakes and being lenient on the new dealers. I get it.

I don't think they should be insta-fired.

I DO, however, think that if a person can't get a grasp on the basics after not only months of training as well a few weeks of real experience, something needs to be done.

I'm sure there are lots of other people out there that could do better for $30-60K a year. (whatever these guys are making)
