How many runners last night? 75 - 100? I may head over and donk off a buy-in tonight.

I think it was 110. I busted early & decided to play cash rather than rebuy into the tourney. I figure they will get 75-100 tonight.

Why don't they have one of those mobile beer stations in the poker room ?

How many you guys think for the 50k guarentee? I'm guessing we will see 225 runners?

I'm gonna set the line at 274 - I had previously thought we'd be lucky to get 150ish but the combination of 1) lots of new faces in the casino cash games tonight, and 2) surprisingly large turnouts for the prelim events, make me think this tourney is going to attract pretty substantial #s

I think it may be a little higher. Probably 125-130 today & closer to 200 on Saturday. They didn't do a real good job promoting this event & I doubt anyone really cares about playing with or meeting Moneymaker. HSI has an event this weekend ( Ho Ho Holdem) , but not many from here are willing to drive 3 hrs to play there even though it's a much better room .

Thanks homie.

194 and counting so far for day 1a.

Registration took forever and a lot of people complained. Also they do not start 8 handed so lots of folks are forced to wait as "Alternates" during the first few levels, which needs corrected ASAP IMHO.

just out of curiosity, why did they run this at this exact time of year? i imagine i'm not the only guy that would like to participate in a donkament like this except i'm totally in the middle of some 70 hour workweeks and am therefore totally not able to. it just seems very odd that their first (second) tournament series would run two weeks before christmas.

Just speculating.. this is really their first big MTT, so they may have intentionally tried to keep it somewhat low to gain experience with running a bigger MTT.. but apparently lots of people ARE able to play at this time of year! ]

There is a rumor floating around that only 14 players total will get paid from this tourney. If true, that would be a disaster, but nothing surprises me with this place anymore. Even if it is true, I hope there is still time for them to reconsider going with a traditional payout structure.

I'm surprised they're not playing a few more levels tonight. Thought they'd go till at least level 15.

LOL.. silly rumor. I'd wager a lot that they increase the number of payouts to a normal / traditional #. No way they only pay 14

So I am playing in the tournament, floor comes over and tells me to rack up and move over to this table.... Goto table and 4 of us who were already playing moved to an empty table and now are waiting on late registrants/alternates.... What the hell?? Smooth move Penn gaming...

I don't understand how the person in charge can take pride in their work and feel good about this decision.

Oops I stand corrected.. talked to floor. Because their standard payout grid only goes up to 14, they can't change it as they don't have permission from Ohio gaming commission... t

I have no confidence in the room manager. These mistakes are insanely bad. I'm surprised the gaming commission would allow the 1b change (capping entries) considering how big a disadvantage it is to all 1b players.

In addition, my strategy would've changed greatly yesterday had I known that only 3.5% of the field would be paid.

Apparently that has to go through the gaming commission, but the decision to cap entries does not.
