Tipping but no chips for liquor makes more sense. Ohio is incredibly strict about it being illegal to give out booze for free. I'm sure the feeling by LCC is that since the chips are technically house property it could be seen as the house paying for booze.

Yes, they changed it again, so you can tip in chips.

They also added food service in the room. So the waitresses are taking longer, with the food, and handling cash instead of just chips.

You were right tuds, the wait wasn't long at all even without calling ahead. It was actually the first time I'd been in a casino or played 1-2 so I wasn't sure what to expect. The line to sign up for the wait list took more time than being called up.

The card playing was meh. Cold deck for me, folding a set of 3s and losing KdKx to 3x4d on a 7dJd3d AI on the flop. And it seemed I was seated on the very opposite side of all the fish.

There was one strange ruling that I've never seen before. New dealer shows up, and within the first three hands she's dealing the cards. Well, she exposes face up the persons second card to the right of me while dealing. She says sorry, then does the exact same thing to me, dealing me my card face up. I assume it's a misdeal, as well as everyone else at the table. Floor is called over and he says that since it was two consecutive cards shown, the hand is not a misdeal?? So she finishes dealing and gives both of us two new cards and leaves the 6 of hearts and J of spades up showing to everyone. The action starts and she gets confused about burn cards or something, and this is after the first two players limp in and me and the guy on my right fold. Floor is called over yet again, but now the players claim that there can't be a misdeal because there has already been action. Different floor guy comes over and says that despite the action that has already taken place, the hand is a misdeal because our two cards were exposed and this happened before the action took place.

So two different rulings from different floor people and a completely confused dealer. It seems like it should be a misdeal, but I'm not incredibly sure.

Next time I do go, however, I need to go without any buddies, as they were egging me on to leave about an hour or two into the game (they didn't want to play).

I've never ever heard of two exposed cards not being a misdeal, regardless of their consecutiveness. As for the second ruling about being a misdeal after action, some places have a rule that there must be "significant" action to not declare misdeal. In this case the floor may have felt that two limps did not constitute significant action.

I have been out of the country, and cannot wait to see the finished changes in the room!

Food service, new tables and cage?! I should go out of town more often!

IMO, the changes are not for the better. With the extra poker tables, the room is so crowded on the weekends. People are always bumping into your chair. Some tables are so close together that there is no walk way between the chairs. Which means you are bumping into the guy behind you when you want to get up from your seat. Not to mention the waitresses cannot get through.

Not sure if there are more waitresses taking care of the tables. If not, that means the same number of waitresses as before serving more customers and now taking food orders. That all equals longer waits.

There is a two cashier cage in the room now. Thats great when you want to cash out I suppose versus the main casino cage. But when you are coming to the poker room to be seated, it does not seem as convenient as before when you could just get your chips at the counter you checked in at. And I have seen the cage with 20+ people waiting.

This past Saturday night when I was in there, it felt like there were 500 people in there. And probably close to it with every table maxed out, dealers, floor people, waitresses and wanderers. It was warm, noisy, crowded and just not all too comfortable.

Sure the room's a little more crowded, but it's not as bad as that in my opinion Draidin. I do hope they move some of the tables around, so things are more evenly spaced. In some parts, it's a lot roomier than others.

There was a crowd around the MM table for a lot of the night.

However, at one point, nobody was railing it, and there were like 6 people sweatin one dude in the 3-6 game.

I played at his table for a little bit... didn't really face off against him but I did well. He was very nice to everyone, played pretty aggressive and was up like $1900.

Around 1am he moved to $10-20 NL, tons of money in that game.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with the Moneymaker promotion. I was at the 1-2 game right next to his table from ~7pm till 1am. He played probably until 8pm, took a 2 1/2-3 hour "dinner break", played until 1245 am, and was asking about getting a cab. If he stayed past then, I missed it as I was tired of going card dead the whole night. But he had to have been up more than $1900 at that 2-5 game, because at one point we counted him having at least $3500.

He bought in for $1,000 and left with around 3k. He was up more than that but lost a bunch of smallish pots towards the end. The long dinner break was pretty lame but Moneymaker was a good sport with making conversation, signing autographs, posing for pictures, etc.

Like I said in my post, he definitely stayed past 1am since that is when he moved to the 10-20 NL game, which looked like a pretty crazy game. Moneymaker bought in there for at least 5k.
