I've not been there in a few weeks, so someone else may have updated info.
$25 on Friday and Saturday nights for sure. During the week the craps tables are $15 most of the days. (craps dealer here).

The craps tables have terrible 2X odds. Even the crummy Vegas rules give you 3-4-5X odds most of the time. Cleveland has 100X odds. Can't understand why Columbus would only do 2X. I will play poker in Columbus, and craps in Cleveland.

Wow, I've never heard of a place having 2x, I thought 3-4-5 was the bare minimum. I guess we won't be seeing Phil Ivey around the poker room any time soon.

I never heard of 2x odds what a joke that is.....Cleveland had 100x odds in dice that's off the hook....

In all honesty Columbus got balls making dice 15 and a quarter

WOW... After reading this I'm picking up my phone, calling my friends, and telling them we should go somewhere else. If I was coming down for a regular poker marathon I wouldn't care, but if I'm going to be forced to play table games there is absolutely no way I'm playing 2X odds craps...

Apologies if it's been covered. May be out there for business in the next 6 weeks and have a few questions:

1. What's the closest nice hotel to the casino?
2. How far is the airport from the hotel in #1?
3. Is there public transit from the airport to the area around the casino(not really important bc company will pay for cab but like to know my options).

thanks!

downtown is 10+ minutes from the airport. casino is 10-15 minutes from downtown in the other direction. 20-30 minutes all in depending on traffic.

to my knowledge, there are no "nice" hotels in the immediate vicinity of the casino, although there may be chain-ish types (its near an exit off I-70).. depends on your definition of nice. do you mean luxury or merely adequate? if it were me, id want a hotel downtown (renaissance, hilton, sheraton, etc.), or find some suburban neighborhood on the west side (Hilliard or Grove City probably) and get a decent hotel there. depends on what else you want around. there's a red roof in 3/4 mile away, but again, depends on what you consider "nice"

unless you go outside the outerbelt, airport is 20-30 minutes to everything.

i'd just get a cab. i'm sure you can get a bus, but i wouldn't want to do that.

Thanks for the reply. By nice, I mean Marriott-ish. I'll be heading to the casino each afternoon/night after business is done for the day. I will not be driving to the casino as I'll probably have a few drinks each night and driving while drinking in an unknown area = NONO for me. That said, if there is a Marriott-ish hotel within a few miles where a cab wouldn't be too expensive that'd be ideal (Trip may last ~10 days so 10RT trips could add up depending on location). It sounds like my options may be limited but appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks again.

The casino is not in the greatest of areas so your options for mid to upper end hotels are somewhat limited. I did a quick search and your best bet looks to be a Courtyard about 2 miles north of the casino. Everything else nearby is in the Motel 6 or Comfort Inn range. Also keep in mind you're out in the suburbs so getting a cab from the hotel might take a little while. Going back from the casino, I'm not even sure if there are any cabs that just wait there for fares or if you'll have to get valet or somebody to call one for you.

Where are you doing business? There is a nice Spring Hills Suite (which I think is by Marriott) located on Olentangy River Rd in the grandview area. Would be centrally located if you're doing business downtown.

3 miles to downtown, 10 miles to casino, 10 miles to airport. Has a bunch of bars and restaurants close.

Thanks, Tom & all. Will decide between courtyard or spring hill suites. Business is in the downtown area.

On a 4567x board a guy just announced "I'm going to raise" when facing a third barrel, this one totaling $100. He continues, "twenty-five on top".

Wow.

After the dealer makes it $100, on top putting the other player all-in, the ultra-min-raiser says "I've got a set" as if it was the nizzle on that board, and villain turns over 88. I love this game.

Then some woman comments on how the winner of the $500+ pot didn't seem excited. She continues, "that's some serious money". She was actually talking during the hand too, which was annoying because she wasn't in the hand.

Did you tell her villain was subdued b/c he was quietly thanking God his 8's weren't raised all-in by donk's 89?

Just checking in to see about news on tournaments. They were supposed to be starting in January but we all know that means at least Feb or March. Any rumors out there? Thanks.

Don't know why it got started, but I saw more action and bigger stacks going on at the 2/5 game yesterday than the 5/25 table in the back. Was like watching paint dry.

Craziest 2/5 I've ever seen this evening (Wed night, Thurs morning). I busted out a few minutes ago (5:30am), but 2/5 was still one table strong with plenty of action. I wish I had a little more cash on me because I'd still be there.

TBD. So far we've heard 100 player cap w/ alt list but that's about it.

Game looked sick---rumor was that AF took > 20k off the game.

I was playing (read:donking) 1/2 until about 3. I had to have seen you - I scoped the table a few times but never saw a seat I liked. How'd you fare?

After the 1/2 table broke, I ended up being a casualty of the sick 2/5 game last night (seat 2 from like 1:30a-530a). Got it in good a few times. Came out ahead on decent pots but couldn't hold up any of the bigger ones. KQ vs K3 preflop. Board goes QAAAQ. Finally busted all in preflop AK vs AJ to a rivered flush. Like I said, great game. Just ran out of money. Saw some pretty unusual amazing and memorable things last night.

*edit* I just realized this wasn't the regional community thread. I'll catch up with you at some point I'm sure.

I wish they would cap the number of 1-2 tables and try to get a few more players at 2-5

I agree.

I also think the people who want to play higher than 2/5 and 3/6 should actively try to create games. I've talked to a few people who say things like "I wish we had 5/10 NL" or "I'd play 20/40 Limit" but then when I ask if they started a list they say no. They want to just walk in and sit 5/10 or sit 20/40. Well, that isn't going to happen until players actively try to start new games, which starts w/ putting your name on a list, recruiting others to do so, etc. I'm fairly confident that if 2 or 3 guys consistently WL for a game that isn't currently running often, it will soon pick up 2 or 3 more players and start short-handed. As soon as people see via BRAVO that the game is running or has a decent WL, it will entice them to come play, and the cycle will begin. If the demand is truly there, the cycle will work out.
