Are you on table four? The 2/10 game was on five when I left at around 6pm.

@peach I was at the back right table. Probably should have posted that since nobody (including waitress, brush) knows you exist back there.

Seemed like about 5-6 solid players, a few sharks and a few people I never saw before. One was a middle aged guy who had over 4k in play so who knows maybe he was a player.

There was a wild incident where one of the really good players (described to me earlier in the night as "the best") was nearly in tears yelling at the floor over some issue re: buying or selling chips to another player. Unfortunately I missed most of the fun part of it because I was too busy losing my stack KT<KJ on a KJT8 board. The guy tanked for at least 3 minutes and even turned his hand face up. Unfortunately my shove wasn't deep enough to get him to fold. Anyway, by the time I lost that hand most of the drama had gone away.

was i solid or a shark?

what was the incident? must have happened after i left.

best part was one player stacking off 1.1k on the flop in the dark and berating his opponent for being unethical, because he looked at his hand.

Which seat were you in?

Are you referring to the player in Seat 1 who got all-in blind and made two pair but lost to top 2 anyway?

I was watching that big 2-10 game for a while on the waiting list for my 3-6 game, on and off between 9:30 and 11. Looked like some decent action. I remember a guy in seat 2 or 3 with a Grizzlies hat that had a pretty big stack, and someone in seat 8 wearing a black jacket and headphones that had a big stack. There was an older guy in seat 1 who was allowed to keep his chips in a rack because he only had one arm. That guy looked like he was giving money away at times.

The guy you are referring to is the same guy we are referring to. Nice man. Enjoys to gamble.

Anyone care to explain the "travelling button" rule in this cardroom? Just: why?

just do what the dealer says. it's a transparent ploy to get more people to commit chips into the pot, more likely to see a flop, more likely to take rake.

One could also make the case that it is good for the game in the sense that theres always the same min $ in the pot (no dead SB). This way a late pos player isn't robbed of 33% of the pot preflop.

Is wifi available in the poker room yet? If not, does anyone know when they plan to offer it?

No immediate plans to add wifi. Still plans to add 6-10 tables tho. And to run daily/weekly MTTs. Looking like at least one $10k Guar / week. I'm hoping for more.

Usually have at least one table of 1/2 PLO on the weekends in my limited experience.

Why has the comment responding to this been removed?

It is a silly rule. It includes the sub-rule that a player, having missed his BB, and having the SB bust on the same hand, can't buy the button, when the pot would be right from buying the button.

Being "robbed" as a late position player of 33% of the pot (i.e. the sb) is a laughable defense of this thing. This rule is odd, and the only justification given so far is even more odd, while the simplest response to hat justification was removed? Huh?

I don't have enough live experience to really care one way or another. FWIW last night, a dealer was saying that from what he heard, this is the trend in most rooms.

I'm surprised to the traveling button rule stirs up so much emotion. Now that nearly every dealer is competent and the tb doesn't slow up the game, whats the big deal?

They have 1/2 plo daily. Sometimes a 2/5 plo will get off, but that's only on the weekends from what I've seen.

It's pretty pointless to discuss this here, as really it just seems like an effort to get more hands into the pot. It isn't at all common in my experience, and I've been to 10+ card rooms in the last year.

There's not much emotion in the discussion. I'm curious. I just thought that since this is the only place I'd seen it, someone might be able to explain it. I'll mention it in the parent forum (B&M) and see if someone else has a different explanation.
