I cashed out $1400 last night and no one asked for my card -- not sure what triggers the request.

Can someone explain this being taxed when cashing out? If you buy into a game (black jack, craps, etc) for 10k and cash out for 5k, you are going to get taxed for losing?

I was asked for my ID and players card after cashing out 1.2k in greens Saturday @ 6am.

I'm not going to give them my card if theyask for it. I'll let you know how that goes.

You don't get taxed for cashing out chips. The only time you'll be taxed directly is if you hit a jackpot of over $600 or win over $5000 in a tournament. We actually had this exact discussion in this thread two weeks ago. Go back to post #260 and start reading.

I cashed out Monday night and did not get asked for a card. The guy next to me had a full rack of reds and some greens in addition to that, and he did not get asked either. Maybe there is a minimum limit where they ask?

It certainly reads that way but if its too good to be true it probably is. They use the word 'win' I'm sure they're drawing randomly for the comp every hour, they should be doing 1 per table if you ask me.

One per hour per table is more than reasonable. With that rake, they certainly can afford it. It would be nice to get something consistent for the hours you play, though.

Very disappointed based on this exchange from facebook

Hollywood Columbus Poker Room: One hot seat each hour, 24 hours a day beginning December 1st at 7am until the morning of December 9th at 6am.

post: per table/whole room?

Hollywood Columbus Poker Room: One person in the room per hour.

This promotion money likely comes out of the bad beat, not the rake.

Pretty lame -- one of the worst (actually the worst?) rake in the country and next to nothing in terms of redistributing $ back to the players who have paid the most rake, not even minimal comps?

Give them a break, they only raked a million the first month. How could they possibly afford free giveaways, buffet offers, etc.

I was under the impression that we would eventually be retroactively comped ($.50 per hour lol) for poker. I would at least like some buffet tix lol

Retroactive comps are coming, but they haven't yet announced what those comparison will be to my knowledge.

LOL at "retroactive comps".. you can just ask the people at Hollywood Penn National who've been promised for over 2 years now and still haven't received anything

We are not getting retroactive comps. From what I've been told there are no real comps planned...

Wait, are there really two 2/10 PLO games running right now? Where did that come from?

Not in Cbus right now, but from what I hear, it's somehow true after 2-10 PLO hasn't gotten off for weeks -- one headsup match and another shorthanded table

Wanting to try the new room. Tripping over the high rake. Probably wait and head to Vegas. Tough luck, Hollywood.

Oh, don't want better comps; or if what I'm reading is true, any comps. Just want reasonable rake before I try out the new room.

Yes I'm low limit player, as are most. Oh, well.

Went in today to check the casino out. Played for about 6 hours of 1/2 and seemed to be pretty decent. Obviously, it was a Wednesday so it wasn't crowded. Got my card, looked around as a casino "newb" and got familiar with the landscape. Don't know how much of my limited play time I'll spend there (usually only play about 20 hours a month) but its nice to have a place in town that has cash games going at 10 am.

I finally made it there two weeks ago. I was very surprised to see that at noon on a Saturday, there were 10 tables running. That's better than a lot of rooms in Vegas.

I played 1/2. The table was pretty dry. Definitely no maniacs at that time of day. Overall the dealers were fine. Front desk staff seemed friendly. Bought my chips at the front desk.

Overall I had a good experience. I know the rake is high, and there are no comps yet, but everything else was positive. Being close to the valet entrance, and having an all non-smoking casino are nice plusses.
