from their facebook page:
In accordance with Governor Justice's Executive Order, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races will require all patrons to wear masks beginning at midnight tonight.
In addition, Hollywood will become a non-smoking facility. We will provide a designated area outdoors for smoking.
Is the Poker Room open?
No. Per the reopening guidance from the State of West Virginia, we are only to allow table games where the cards are not touched by the guests, therefore the poker room is not authorized to operate at this time.
so if you cant touch cards, then do they deal cards up at Ultimate Texas Holdem?
or is that table game closed?
From the FAQ:
Quote:
What Table Games are available?
Currently we are offering Blackjack, Mini-Bacc, Spanish 21, Rapid Roulette, 3 Card Poker*, 4 Card Poker*, Let it Ride* and Craps. Craps has limited positions available and reservations are taken at the table. Minimums vary by day and game type. Masks are required to play table games. * Cards are dealt face up.
I thought that too but it can be enough to flip it in players favor I don’t think or they wouldn’t offer it. Who knows though, obviously they still make a killing on bonus bets if people play them.
Hopefully wrong, I enjoy the room and Charles Town on my occasional trips up there (enjoy 9 dragons, the steak house, the sports bar, night horse racing and friendly, quiet card room with good action). No poker would mean I have made my last trip there unfortunately (like the scenic drive too).
Terrible. I feel bad for some of the good dealers they have, hope they land somewhere. And the regs who will miss a nice place close to home. I’ll miss the place if it’s truly done.
Well they capped the bbj at 10k and used it for promotions like high hands primarily. And it was a one dollar drop instead of two (of course they had a six dollar rake). So who knows what they had left (doubt it is a huge amount). Don’t know the answer to your question specifically for West VA, but I think from previous threads here that some states do allow it to be used in other casino promotions as long as it’s returned to players (even if not necessarily poker players).
Today I spoke with someone who knows a dealer very, very well and he said the dealers haven't been told anything and that they legally don't have to tell them anything until mid-August. He added that the rumor that the employees have been laid off is not true.
This is contrary to what a former Chuck Town dealer (who is also in the know) told me last week.
Today's source is more reliable.
