I tried to copy/paste the last few posts on this topic from this thread over to the new thread with limited success.

My apologies to anyone whose comments I butchered, or any confusion I may have caused.

lol thanks klez. i searched before i made my post and saw that there was one good thread in the past that had a good discussion but unfortunately it was with different amounts than what we're facing here. the amounts (rake or time) that Charles Town is looking to charge is just a different ballgame.

so everyone - move your rake/time talk to that thread. i would say complaint still fit in the thread, however. just in case the manager happens to look here.

I think this was asked before but I don't believe there was an answer, can we call ahead to get on the waiting list?

Also, what has the wait list been like for 10-20 limit?

Thanks to everyone for the reviews, looking forward to checking it out for myself this weekend.

Just called the poker room. The 1/2 list already has 79 people on it. The 2/5 list has 57 people on it.

I called the main number 800-795-7001, hit 0 for the operator, and asked for the poker room.

I AGREE!!! I asked the same thing as well. Can someone who is experienced have these rake vs. time posts passed to another area is would really lessen the confusion and make it much easier to find the trip reports or GOOD info about the room, and its rules.

Nope. The floor has no idea. I suspect getting all the dealers and tables at the table games done is first priority

I was told by a couple pit bosses that the delay is mainly because the WV lottery officials are taking a really long time granting dealer/supervisor licenses.

Evidently (as of yesterday) well over 50% of the dealers/supervisors they have for tables and poker still had not been approved by WV Lottery.

Is there a bbj? If there is, they usually take a dollar. Where is the JP to come from?

My Quick Report From 3pm - 8pm Today

When I arrived at 1:45pm to stand in line to sign up, I was about 45-50th in line. They only allow you to sign up for one table in the beginning. So I was the 25th player for 1/2 NL. I really wanted to play 2/5 NL, but resisted the temptation since it was my first time in the room. I was seated at the 3rd [out of 4 total] 1/2 NL tables and cards were in the air by 3:30pm. 10 tables were running and I believe this was the breakdown:

4 - 1/2 NL
2- 2/5 NL
2- 5/10 NL

and here is where it get fuzzy...

2- 3/6 Limit, or
1- 3/6 Limit and 1- 5/10 or 10/20 limit

By the time all tables began running [3:30-3:45], there were about 75 people waitlisted for 1/2 NL, 35 for 2/5 NL, 25 for 5/10 NL and probably 25-35 for all limit games. This continued until I left at 8:00pm.

The managers [names removed] are doing the best that they can right now. It will take a few weeks to iron out the kinks. The biggest setback right now is that they're at the mercy of the WVA Lottery/Gaming Commission. If you're going to be tilted by long lines to buy-in, cash-out, etc. then give it a few weeks before you come here. If you can withstand all of that, there is some good action going on.

Here's my quick TR

Went down today at around 5 and got there shortly after 6. I knew i was going too late but oh well, I wanted to check it out.

Got there and had stopped to buy a drink at 7-11 but when I got in the casino I wasnt allowed to bring a drink in(?) Anyone know why that is? Got there and finding the poker room was fairly straight forward. stood in line to get on a list and was about 142 for 1/2 or something and high 100s for 3/6. Left, walked around the table games area which looked pretty good. All minimums were 25 sans Let It Ride which was $15.

Hung out and kept walking around, thought about getting some food and just tried to kill time. Eventually when I saw the list wasnt really moving at all I decied to leave. I'll come back when the waits arent so long.

Games running were

4 tables 1/2 NL
2 tables 2/5 NL
1 table 5/10 NL
2 tables 3/6 Limit
1 table 10/20 Limit
