You can still find good games there on the weekends and even most weekday evenings.

Agree... The local and traveling grinders like to populate the bigger casinos so games here can be pretty good sometimes.

This place is still run as poorly as it was 10 years ago though when there was no competition.

Just noticed on bravo that they have 5/5 running instead of 2/5.

When did that change happen? Is the max buy in still 500?

Max buy in for 5/5 is $1000; I think the min is $400.

Game goes back and forth between 2/5, 5/5, and occasionally 5/10, depending on who's there that particular day.

5/5 has been running regularly for a few months.

Sickest BBJ ever?:

77 v AA

77 flops quads, jams his last $40 and shows AA his hand.

AA calls anyways.

Turn A

River A

Sickest part?:

77 didn't swipe in with his player card so he didn't qualify for his $4k cut.

The strangest part of that story is the call, knowing that you need runner-runner.

CharlesTown announced that they will reopen June 5, 2020 @ 8pm.

Wonder if poker will be like when they first opened with long lines/waits since MD casinos havent announced yet.
heck, will the upstairs poker room be finally used again as overflow/spillover?

also, i'm the 1st poster this year in this thread?
oh how the mighty have fallen.

Just read the description. It Doesn’t seem to say anything one way or the other on poker, just that table games will be limited capacity.

Actually it does sort of mention poker in a way. It says that the only table games allowed should be ones where only the dealer touches the cards, wherever possible? Seems like some wiggle room there.

I'd probably be surprised if they opened live poker just yet.

=======

Table games: Limit number of players at any specific table to allow for proper social distancing (e.g., remove chairs and limit number of players at any table) or, where such physical spacing is not possible, casinos may implement use of physical barriers to separate customers (e.g., plexiglass or
plastic shields), provided, use of any such barrier must be approved by the Lottery Commission.

Further, to the greatest extent possible:

o Allow only table games where the cards are not touched by customers;

o Any dice or other game pieces should be cleaned before and after use by different customers; and

o Chips should be cycled between unused tables to allow more frequent cleaning of the chips

hm.. they seem to have opened earlier than 8pm.
from what i read:

The traffic from Sheetz to casino was like a parking lot, thats about 3-5miles moving 5–10mph.
And by the time u get into the casino there’s no where park or VERY lucky to find one since they only open the east garage.
Table min is $25

Was bored this morning, so I figured I'd take a drive out to Charles Town. Note: Route 9 is closed in Hillsboro, so the fastest way from the Leesburg area is 7 to 340 right now.

Got there around 10:30. The East garage is the only one open, but you have to drive in through the main entrance under the arch by the Inn to get to it. The police have the other entrance closed off with barricades by the East garage, and only allow cars to exit from there. There was zero parking left on the first level, but the 2nd (and I assume) higher have parking available.

Inside, not packed, but plenty of people. They take your temp when at security when you go in, takes about 5 seconds. Pretty much everyone wearing masks. Stopped by the poker room, which obviously had no one in it. All the tables are still there...just kind of empty and sad looking. I guess it's good news that they haven't removed them and put in slots or something.

Not a lot of table games open, but there were some and looked like they were going to open more. Looked like only blackjack, baccarat and one table of craps was open. I didn't really notice roulette, but didn't look too hard either. The multi-roulette seated game was open and running. There were no plastic barriers or anything at the blackjack or baccarat games, but there were plastic barriers at the craps table between people. I also saw a sign up sheet on the table next to the craps table for a wait list.

Slots were as we've heard from a lot of other places. They've distanced people by strategically every other or 2 out of 3 machines, depending on the spacing. Lots of footprint dots on the ground to keep people distanced. Sportsbook was closed, and all of the chairs and tables in that area were gone.

Food court and self-service drink stations were closed, except for one spot in the food court that served wrapped sandwiches and stuff. I didn't notice any beverage servers, but again, didn't really think to look hard since I wasn't actually playing.

All-in-all, pretty much what I expected.

Edit: as someone said earlier in the thread, the lowest table limits I saw were $25, and several of those tables had the signs on them saying that they'd be raising stakes in 30 minutes.

I didn't see anything, sorry. I thought they'd at least have those sports betting machines by the poker room working, but those were all turned off.

I have not seen anything. According to their twitter post of 6/11/2020, they have not yet opened the room due to the Governor's guidelines on reopening, and they have not yet been given an estimate on when they can open. That was a week ago, of course, but I haven't seen anything more recent posted.

Edit: Jeffage beat me to it. They updated the page on their website. It confirms the tweet from a week ago.
