Didn't find a thread for this one. Not sure what to put in, so here goes.

Happened to stay in BSL on a recent trip, and decided to check out the casino after waking. It's about 3 miles off the main road, a nice little drive into the woods.

The casino itself seemed o.k. Mostly machines, but some table games. A few restaurants scattered about.

Arrived about 8:30, saw it opened at 9. Thought it would be nominally open at 9, with play beginning sometime later. No, started with a full table of regulars right at 9.

Odd spread limit, 1-4 pre & post, 1-8 turn & river. They had a promotion where, up to once every 30 minute, a suited flop would result in a $50 splash pot the next hand. Happened once while I was there.

Atmosphere was regulars who all knew each other, but played OMC poker. I can't imagine it ever gets too intense, the bigger money probably goes to Gulfport instead of this small place out in the woods.

Room was a little tired--seats had wear on the upholstery, but nothing terrible. Friendly folks, a nice gentle way to spend an hour.

Didn't need a drink, but the drinks person did come around a couple times while I was there, so service seemed good.

Thanks for the post golddog,

1-4-8-8 was the game in Biloxi, Gulfport and Bay Saint Louis when we lived in Mobile Bay, Alabama in the late 90's.

I did not know the Bay St. Louis room was still spreading Poker.

We'll swing by next Gulf Coast Poker Road Trip we make - which will probably be this year.

I have never had the chance to play in BSL but I heard some really good limit there pre COVID. The hours post COVID actually better now. Used to be closed Sun thru Tue but now open 7d so might be able play there.

As to bigger games in Gulfport, more likely would be NOLA esp since there isn’t poker in Gulfport. AFAIK MS poker is Biloxi, Tunica, Vicksburg and Philly and of course Bay St. Louis.

If you really want to small tired and dated, but no poker, go the other direction in BSL to Silver Slipper!!! Goggle literally tried to take me down a dirt road to get there. I found a gravel one instead.

When I wrote "Gulfport", I kind of meshed Biloxi in there. In other words, "all those bigger casinos to the east."

I did stop in Beau Rivage as I passed by just to look. Definitely a nicer place than Hollywood. Walked through the poker room, seemed nice. Did not get on the list to play.
