Not many rooms make 1/2 a must move, however in such a small room it seems like it would make sense, especially if it's the only game running.

What we ended up doing was breaking up the main table and having one of us move to the waiting list.

Now opening the third table is all well and good, but if they would have made it a must move table, the problem would have been solved. Furthermore, it keeps the first table going which typically has the most money on it (especially by later in the afternoon).

I know one of the players spoke to the floor/host about it, and a dealer said he'd be speaking to his supervisor as well concerning it. Anyone else agree or think this is problem which players should still voicing to the floor?
100% agree and for a 4-6 table room it should be an absolute!

Additionally, to continue to " better dealers" rant, I played a tournament at The Poker Room in Hampton. I truly recognized how terrible and lacking the Bangor dealers are. I like all of their personalities but their dealing skills, game management and BLATANT CONTINUED LACKING OF GAME RULES is unacceptable. Honestly,I blame management for the poor training they are doing. #whenwillitend #RANT

re: bad dealers

Complain, complain again, and then keep complaining. Will it work? Maybe. But unless we are vocal it won't change..that much is certain.

SNGs start tomorrow, 11/14. All amounts. 20% to the house including dealer tip. Paying top 3 spots- 50%, 30%, 20%.

Just went to the casino to look into it, got a sheet with the tourney info.

BUY-IN (pot + rake + dealer fee):

$80 (60+15+5, 1500 starting chips)
$155 (120+30+5, 1500 starting chips)
$235 (200+30+5, 2500 starting chips)
$345 (300+40+5, 5000 starting chips)
$565 (500+60+5, 5000 starting chips)

If the blinds start at 25/50, I'd assert that playing anything lower than the $235s would be preposterous given 30bb starting stack combined with 20-33% rake, but the higher stakes look really good.

Running 10am-10pm.

edited to add: Now the only problem will be getting a good dealer to get in more than 5 hands per level, a problem made substantially more difficult by a recent staffing change.

Just officially became the first person to bust out of a tournament at Hollywood Bangor

Structure update: Blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 10 minutes.

I repeat. 33% rake for a 30bb starting stack, live, full ring, 10 minute levels. If you don't get one of the few remaining fast dealers, may god have mercy on your soul.

On the heels of firing one of their few capable dealers, they recently fired the best floorperson for a first time offense. I was told that upon hearing this news, five of the regs at a specially set up 500-max 1/2 game immediately cashed out and said they were never coming back.

Which dealer? Which floor? What offense?

Already gotten in trouble for posting names ITT, but they fired a very good dealer who has been with the company in other capacities for ~5 years for taking a dollar off the rake to even out otherwise uneven chopped pots a few times.

They fired by far the best floorperson for granting half-rake at each table for a little while on his birthday.

At Penn Gaming, any attempt at customer satisfaction is grounds for termination. They do not care if their employees are capable, they only want obedience. Penny wise, pound ******ed, the beat goes on.

Im going up there today, I'll try to give a recap if I actually see an opening worth taking. I must say though, you guys have painted a pretty negative picture going into it :P

In all fairness if the dealer is dumb enough to take a $1 off the rake to make it even for a chop should be fired.....

How would the dealer like it if he cashed out for 221 the cashier gave him 220 "just to make it even

And the floor should be instafired for giving take reduction for a birthday present

Update, went down there yesterday. Got in the 1/2 around like 2PM ish... Sat down with $300 left with $605 2 hours later. I got up when I felt the main fish left.

My wait time was relatively low, and I didn't have a problem with the dealers. Idk, maybe I had good luck? Half the the table was sitting way below the BI. Games seemed really soft. I might go a few more times before the 20th of Jan when I go back to Washington state. Good experience IMO

Yea I would say those are justifiable terminations. It's a casino, everyone knows you can't do something stupid like that. Any casino in the country would have resulted in termination for those guys.

Dunno if anyone who works there reads this thread or not. But they should try out some head's up sng's there. With buy ins ranging from like, $50-300. (or higher if two people agree or whatever)

*table space concern
-Can fit multiple matches at one table.
no more then two games at a time would be ideal, but honestly, you can prob fit 4 games on a table at a time.

Something like 8 minutes blinds, 100 big blinds to start.
5k stack
25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
250/500
300/600
350/700
and so on... A lot of games prob won't even make it past 200/400.
Antes possibly?

would be something to do when your on a long waiting list and what not.. I also think for the casino's standpoint, this type of thing would produce a lot more regulars..

Anyways, someone should get a petition going or something, if other people think something like this would be a good idea.

Is there a daily 2-5 game here?
Hollywood Casino (Bangor, ME) Quote

2/5 does not run daily (unfortunately). But it runs pretty consistently on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Some new changes to the room. 2/5 is now a $200 min-$1000 max buyin. Furthermore, they ran a 5/10 yesterday that stayed open and full all day it sounds like. They already have 9 on a list to run it again this upcoming Thursday. Min buyin is $300-$1500 max.

I plan to drive up to Augusta, ME as part of my vacation during the 2nd week of June to see my brother, and if I have some time may consider the extra drive to play some 2/5 NL. Hope the games are as juicy as the ones down here in Florida (I go to the Daytona Beach card room and Hard Rock in Tampa semi-regularly).

Hey gang. Just looking for an update on how Hollywood is going? I haven't been there since last year as I am living in Portland. Are there still regular tables? How about the SNG's and Tourneys? I looked on the website and found some promotions throughout the rest of the year and wondered if I could get back into it.

I'd like an update as well if anyone cares to give it. I'll finally have money in the fall, and have been studying my ass off in preparation. Seeing as how Oxford is never going to get any #$%#$% tables going...

How are the dealers?
How are the players? Nitfest? Skilled? Donkish? Weekends any good?
How many tables usually run for 1-2? When it runs, how many of 2-5?

I still live in Portland. Overall, is their current state of the game worth saving the couple hours for compared a FW trip?

Thx!

I live 5 minutes away and have been there probably once in the last 9 months. If you live in Portland I'd just go to Foxwoods. I mean you're talking what 2.5 hrs versus 3 hours to Fox??
