One of the hosts said they only allow a maximum of 20 blue chips when players buy in for 100. The reason is because "we want to attract red chips players" This is stupid because in the regular 1/3 100 buyin NLHE or any red chips games, they allow blue, red and white chips on the table. So now when i have a large amount of the blue chips, they said no? wtf.
Why don't you just color up? It sound's like you were making this a bigger issue than it needed to be. You could have played if you said "OK, then give me $80 in $5 chips" and kept 20 blues. I'm sure they allow white chips in this game too. A large amount of blues would be a pain in the ass in a PLO game where the pot has to be counted a lot, compared to NLHE where dealers aren't allowed to count the pot, just spread the pot and you have to guess yourself.
