All of the LA cardrooms have gone to charging for food, all of the cardrooms are unbeatable at 100NL and 4/8, all of the cardrooms have bad service. It's simply not true that commerce/bike will take better care of you.

If you feel like driving an extra 30 minutes is worth it to play at Pechanga, don't let me stop you, but this isn't a problem that is specific to HG.

HG food price increase just happened last week and it is outrageous, i am at the Bike at the moment and i can still have a good lunch at $7, order same food at HG and it'll cost me $11, they lowered the jackpots too.

Yeah March 1 was a big day for food in Los Angeles. Bike used to be free food. Now you have to play 3 hours to get a meal (which honestly isn't terrible). Commerce used to be free food, now it's pay via accrued $/hr that varies by game you're in.

You seem very preoccupied with jackpots! I can't say I have any idea what any of the jackpots are in any game in any casino I frequent.

I didn't even know there was a jackpot at HG. All I ever heard about were the silly drawings, and you can't hear if your name is called when in the high limit section anyway.

yep, the drawings are really silly, they hardly announce your name during the drawing so if you are not looking at a TV screen which is very likely because you are playing cards then you will not know who won. As you can see on my name, i am a jackpot chaser, i play to win the jackpot so i play LImit games, HG used to be my primary place to play, it used to be better than Commerce and Bike but they have increased the Food prices a lot, people used to eat here but not anymore, a lot of players avoid this place now or they eat before they come down there.

I play here a lot and in fact actually pulled A online tricks at the $40 in lhe table. so I see I have talked today scissors and I grabbed my phone and immediately at happy and acting like, "oh your water broke yada yada yada ok I'm on my way" and then said "sorry guys umm all in i guess" and pushed and everything I had which was $80 and I did this because this black dude at the table had been raisin and when in my hands all night and calling every all and that happened so I knew he would call it even told the guy next to me watch this but told him not to say anything until after I left so I pushed all in and he called with Ace 3and I won his pot plus z free flop raises every raises that happened before I pushed all in so overall it was a good $100 + pot.

Wow you outwitted the brain surgeons at an HG 40 table. That's pretty impressive. I'd chastise you for angling but it's pointless. What you did is tantamount to swindling a homeless man out of a few aluminum cans. And also thanks for clarifying the dude was black. Important bit of info right there, in fact it makes your douche move less scummy since you pulled it off on one of them.

This just went in to effect on Monday.
Before this change food was menu prices in 8/16 Limit and free in 300NL.

Now scans for 8/16 Limit get you $3 in comps and scans for 300NL get you $2 in comps. How does this make sense?

Any update on the state of PLO at HGC? Where's the best place to find PLO action in Socal now?

Actually Hollywood Park Casino has really picked up the PLO action with all the PLO games.
Saw a couple of Facebook posts and it checked out! Robert Turner (google his name and Omaha) is hosting a Omaha tourney on Saturdays. They also have a PLO/Combo game and actually have a PLO host his name is Greg.
https://www.facebook.com/playhpc is the page. Was there yesterday for about 7 hours and it was happen. $100/$300 buyin 1 3 blinds with an optional utg 6 straddle and they cycle through a combination of PLO and PLO 8/b ...Eight hands of each game are played. It's gotten much better with the new owners.

Word is November. With the "official" grand opening in February. Coinciding with the Chinese New Year.

I played at their 6-12 O/E today. Pretty good.
They are using $2 for the stud ante now

Wow, that is a big ante. I used to play 10/20 with just $1 ante. I guess it makes sense if they take the huge drop right away though.

Yeah it is a 5+1 drop
Only big ante make the pot little juicy to play with

Honestly. This game is really expensive in some sense
To my observation. Only one player made consistency money in this 5 hour++ session.
I made $50 in six hour which is not bad for me I played extremely tight and did not miss most of the value bet/ value raise.
Average 3 players per two hour have to reach into pocket and buy chip.
One beautiful lady probably lost 1K today playing this game.
I don't know where the money went lol.
The winning player except me has 200$ up in his 10 hour session.
I don't think any other player ( except one hit and run player went to BIG O after hit quads)

Haven't been to the Gardens in awhile. What's the state of the PLO games there?

PokerAtlas says they have a 1/3 PLO game. Is that a straight omaha-high game or is it mixed? And they also list a 5/5 game. Again is that a real 5/5 game? Or is it like the Commerce 5-5-10 game?

Is it still the same setup as how it's been for years until the new place opens? I haven't been there in years...
