Yep, every day. I'll be over there in a couple hours. It's usually just one but it gets more than one table on the weekend at nights sometimes. I've seen more than one during the week but it's not the norm. Usually the second one doesn't last long during the week and it's just a must move into the main one.

You need to be a well established regular to secure a box. There's a small deposit.

Men and his crew have been accused of cheating (colluding) just about anywhere he plays. This story was from a decade ago: http://www.laweekly.com/2003-05-22/n...th-the-master/

Does Hawaiian Gardens still run the sit 'n goes on weekends? Any opinions on what's a better option for Saturday afternoon, the $110 double-up SNGs or Commerce's $150 mega stack? Both of them have fast structures so there's a bit of luckboxing in both. I'm more confident in my SNG game, but there's an opportunity for a much bigger win in the Commerce tournament.

With a halfway decent SNG game, or less, HG's double-up SNGs are a milk run. Win a hand or two and fold your way into the money.

bumping my thoughts after playing here for awile.

PLO: the 1/2 $100-$200 is played with a $5 bring in. They should really up the buyin to $500 its really 1fu***** annoying getting stuck like $800 and the table is a nit fest. but overall the play is bad, you have to be patient early bc of stack sizes. runs most days. easy to beat if you know the game.

the 5/5 300-1000 plays with a rock and straddle any position. juicy sonetimes, but others its always filled with prop nits (early on)

3/5 as advertised is a joke, very passive.

sample hand: effective stacks $600. folded to me on btn i go $30 w/J8ss. only BB calls. flop 6-8-8 rnbw. he check i bet $35. he c/r me to $135. i flat, no reason to raise. turn is a 2. he ships for like $450 i snap call. he has 4-5. yes 4-5 off. 3 on river gg.

havent played higher nolimit can comment

funny reading the comments about Dana.... he does the same stuff in the PLO game.

edit: 15/30 stud hi-lo, sometimes we can go mixed game w/razza. total nit fest occasional fish, all regs. but fun bc NLHE sucks.

20/40: already been said. beatable, couple solid players but nothing to write home about (im not saying I am, far from)

Sick thanks. Why i didn't think of this is beyond me. Waiting for buses blows with multiple transfers,. So here's my route:

1) Bike from my house to the 50 bus at Katella and Glassel: 15 mins according to google
2) Hop on the bus (just googled it and thrilled to see they all have bike racks up front): 1 hr with getting there 5 mins early
3) Get off at the San Gabriel River Bike Trail and bike up the trail to HG from there: 15 mins

Total time: 1hr 30mins + I get a little exercise

Played here for the first time and liked the place quite a bit. Yes, it's a tent (3 of them) but it's a permanent structure and you can't tell otherwise, really. The crowd was good sized and the 3/5 ($300 buyin) game I played in was pretty soft. Again, this is another SoCal room that doesn't use the Bravo, but they have a similar internal system. The room has well over 100 tables, but the way it is broken up makes it seem more like a poker room and less like a poker hall (like Commerce or the Bike).

The players here seemed pleasant, and I didn't see any of the staff abuse I've seen at the 2 bigger SoCal rooms so far. I'll be coming back here if I'm down that way again (my only complaint: too far away )

Just saw an "open during construction" sign outside. Anyone know what they are planning to put in?

They're working on a real, permanent building. Although the current structure has been there a long time, it's really kind of a big tent that was meant to be temporary.

Of course one of them fills on river. So now you don't have to build back from only $100, and it's actually a good game now, more like real PLO.
Is this game still running daily? How is the play now? If not this game, what PLO or PLO8 games run?

That game has turned in to 2/3 100-300 half hi - half 8 or better.

They also have the 5/5 hi only PLO. I believe it's either 500-1000 or 500 uncapped. I haven't played it in awhile so I forget. Neither game runs as often as it was running a couple of years ago which was everyday but they still get off the ground from time to time.

Thanks. I might try the half/half this weekend, if it runs. I'll only be in town for a few days.
