This is a fun little room with lots of regulars. I play tournaments once or twice a month there, $65 buy in. On Wednesday they have an Omaha/Omaha Hi-Lo tournament which is fun. Usually about 20 entries. Something different.

Are they still running the Wednesday Omaha Tournaments?

What time does it start?
How much is the buy-in?
How many starting chips?
How many runners?
How long are the rounds?
Is it No-Limit, Pot-Limit or Limit - Omaha Hi or Omaha 8?
How long does it usually last?

Wish they would put more info on here or at least the website.

Thanks.

Played yesterday at Harrington. Great tournament, it is enjoyable to play something other than the same old NL Holdem. Hopefully they will add a Stud Tournament or H.O.R.S.E.

Since no one answered my questions I will answer in case anyone else is interested. Too bad Harrington doesn't put this information on their website along with the blind structure.

1.) What time does it start?
Tournament starts at 11:00am

2.) How much is the buy-in?
$60 for 5,000 starting chips + $5 for 500 additional chips. $50 of the buy-in goes to prize pool, $10 to Harrington & $5 to dealers. Currently there is a $1,000 guarantee.

3.) How many starting chips?
5,000 + optional 500 (for $5 to dealers)

4.) How many runners?
Yesterday there were 23. Floor stated it varies from 20 - 30.

5.) How long are the rounds?
30 minute rounds with a 10 minute break every 3 rounds. The blinds start at 25 - 50 and there are no antes.

6.) Is it No-Limit, Pot-Limit or Limit - Omaha Hi or Omaha 8?
The tournament is No Limit Omaha / Omaha Hi-Low, it changes each round starting with NL Omaha.

7.) How long does it last?
According to floor it depends but usually 5 - 6 hours, sometimes it ends around 2:30 - 3:00 if chopped.

Going to be working in Delaware over the next month. Does anyone know if this room is worth visiting? Is Dover downs better?

Would this be a ok room to go to for my first time playing live. This is about 30mins away, Dover Downs is about hour and 15mins and Maryland Live is about 2 hours. I was going to pick harrington because its closer but I'm curious to what you guys think for a first timer.

I haven't been there since last winter but I would recommend this room for a beginner. The people are friendly and the dealers are decent. It's mostly the same people that play in the daily tourneys so be weary of that. Otherwise, have fun and enjoy! Good Luck!

Is this room still basically all 1/2 occasionally 2/5 NL? Is it filled with mostly OMC?

So I played here today. Nicely run little room. People were friendly. Game was 1/2. Still filled with OMC.

Anyway, on my way out I decided to mash the max bet on a penny machine and hit a $2,300 jackpot.

They told me that my Driver's License and Players Card was not enough to get paid in full. I needed literally a physical original Social Security Card or they would withhold 28%. No ifs and or buts.

I've hit my share of jackpots (at other casinos across the country, probably 10 different casinos?) before and have ALWAYS been issued a W-2G after they check my ID and players card (I'm not actually sure if I've ever even been asked for my players card before).

I had them put a "Hold" on my jackpot and will go back at a later date with my Social Security Card to collect the jackpot in full (at least that's what I've been told) but this seems extremely odd to me.

I live almost 2 hours away and it's a huge inconvenience.

Has anyone else run into this issue before? Either at Harrington or any other casino?

Mods: Please move this if it's not the correct forum.

That's absurd, I've never heard of that before. But given the 4 hour inconvenience (round trip), why not just withhold the 28%? It all comes out in the wash in a few months anyway when you file.

I thought about that but I'm going to be up near there in a few days anyways so I figured I'd just pick it up in full then. So I guess it's not that big of an inconvenience, meh.

They give you a W-9 if they withhold the taxes and a W2-G if they don't withhold them. I'm thoroughly confused on this one.

Any idea if it would be easier come tax season to just have them withhold the 28%?

Never dealt with a W-9, not sure. You can ask in the Poker Legislation forum, they deal with tax issues over there.

I spoke with a low level customer service agent (super nice and seemed knowledgeable) and I was told they are undecided if they will be re-opening the poker room. Which is not good because about 2 weeks ago they said they were hoping to open it in about two weeks. With Dover removing their poker room before COVID-19.

Delaware Park's poker room is also still closed, I'm not sure if they are re-opening.

I guess AC or MDLive are the closest option. At least we have online poker here.

If anyone has any insider info on whether Harrington poker room is/isn't opening, that would be much appreciated.

Is there any update that anybody has on when Harrington may reopen the Poker room (if at all)?

Just heard July -- I know one of the poker room managers there and that's when they are 'hoping' to re-open.

Well, right now the only poker room open in Delaware is Delaware Park. I was checking Bravo and they had 7 cash tables on Friday night.
