Can you be more specific? Upgraded from what to what?
I believe Diamond Club members can get upgraded to Waterfront Tower rooms automatically.
I have occasionally been given a free Waterfront Tower upgrade when I happened to check in with a Diamond-line designated front desk clerk (because there was no one standing in the Diamond line). Otherwise, I think it is ~$50 a night.

You can pretty easily get a free upgrade from Harbor or Marina to Bayview unless it is a particular crowded time of year in my experience. If you are looking for something nicer than the standard Waterfront room, I have no idea.

Ditto on this one- I'm not even diamond. Weekdays or weekends in the winter when i've been there, I've been granted the waterfront tower when i ask. nice rooms! you just have to luck out a little. no $20 trick needed.

I can never get the Waterfront tower. It does not bother me as much as that tower is a long walk to/from the poker room. I do not mind Harbour Tower as much since it is close to the poker room. Last couple of trips I have been getting dumped in the Atrium Suites. The rooms are not that bad, but the view of the bay is awesome.

I believe $59 Sunday-Thursday. I am not sure about a weekend rate. They did not used to have one, but I have heard someone say one time they got one.

they claim not to have one in the summer. But during the winter and spring it's $59 and I think $99 or $109 on fri and sat.

Anyone else pick up their mini camcorders? The wife and I got in line around 12:50pm and the line was already wrapped around the entire casino! Luckily they started the giveaway at 1pm instead of 2, saving us an hour of waiting in line. The camcorder is pretty nice considering it was free.

We also got 2 free tickets to see Chaz Palminteri's one man show of a Bronx Tale. It was fantastic!

Kudos to Harrah's for showing us a great time! I'm going to try and sneak down there more regularly to qualify for the big freeroll, but it's going to be difficult.

Yeah got the camcorder- it was weird- I got there around 3:15 3-30, and the line mearly wrapped around 2 sides of the center promotion giveaway place. Maybe I missed some part of a larger line? Did some old people snooze and let an incievably large opening open up? All I saw was the end of the line with no one else near, and I mean no one, so i got in line, and people jumped in behind me as well. So I'm pretty sure I wasn't cutting any massive line. I got the camera, and waited maybe 10 min for it. Guess I got there at the perfect moment?
Later in the afternoon, people were commenting at the size of the line again, so maybe I really did hit it at the right time.

I if they were out- you got $30 people were saying, although it only said $15 on my ticket.

Anyway- happy to have gotten the camera and not a long wait!

wow- crazy that people were lining up at 12:30 or so? ha! wow! There were certintly a lot of people booking it to the parking deck with the camera, and to even get to Harrah's was a pretty good jam up on the roads and deck.

Amazing what we do for free crap huh?

Which rooms at Harrahs are in the new 92-story tower? They offer me the lowest room rates in AC so I figure I'll stay there next trip, just want to know what room to ask for.

The line was extended straight out of the promotions center towards the Total Rewards area and then went all the way down the hall toward Club Capuccino/Check-In area. My wife and I got on line right about where the Total Rewards area was. Once they started giving out the cameras it was only a short time before we got ours.

The wait for us wasn't super long and I will definitely use it in the future. It acts as a camcorder, digital camera for still photos, and a webcam.

I only logged a couple hours at 2/5 from about 2-4pm and then took a short walk to Borgata before returning to Harrah's for the show. Did anyone else enjoy the show on Saturday?

I'm guessing you're talking about the Waterfront Tower. That's where the new rooms are right outside the Pool. Room rates are a little higher for the Waterfront Tower than for the Harbour Tower or Marina Tower.

If you use one of the self check-in kiosks, you can usually get a free upgrade as long as the hotel isn't totally booked. That said, it may be best to book the room at the cheapest rate (Harbour Tower) and take a gamble on a Waterfront Tower room being available for a free upgrade.

I hear though the poker grapevine that Harrah's has some type of 4/8 LHE game with half blinds? How exactly does that work?

Does this game run most nights/weekends. Anyone know what comps/hour are?

I see the game running maybe 5/7 nights. I think the comps are the same as 1/2NL but don't quote me on that. I played one time, but prefer playing higher if I'm playing limit.

1/2 blinds, an opening raise to 6. Normal 4/8 aside from the low blinds.

Thanks for clarifying. I was assuming it played like 2/4 until 4th street and then went 4/8.

Seems weird an opening raise would be to 6, I assumed 4.

Comps are probably .50~1.00 per hour

That's the Waterfront Tower, but it is only 44 stories.

Good to hear that. I have plans to see his show - mostly because his wife grew up across the street from me in suburban NJ.

I called reservations today to enquire about the poker room rate and she sounded puzzled like she didn't know what I was talking about and said they only offer it if your in a major tournament. If you don't mind me asking how much is the friday poker room rate and how did you arrange it? Im assumeing I should speak directly with the poker room?

I just called was told the shift manager isn't around try back in about 30 min which I am going to do. I've only stayed weekdays on comps and occasionally extending my stay for around $60 a night midweek. I started a new job and can't get weekdays off for awhile but have Sat & Sun off yet only mon-thurs comps so I'm in a bit of a pickle. Any have a ballpark figure of what a poker room rate would drop it to on a Saturday? Theres no way I'm going to pay $300+ for one night to grind 1/2NL major -EV!!! I've just been day tripping 3 hours each way on the weekends lately but would much rather stay if it were a reasonable price.

I would guess $129-$149 even if they offer a Saturday rate or if there is even room availability.
