Just wanted to follow up to see if any poker players are getting room offers. I just called and they were only reduced rates for middle of the week. ( I am not referring to poker players who also play other games )

I just called and struck out. They went by the same prices that show up on the calendar on the web site.

Yea..me to. Room offers for poker players have come and gone. In order to get comp rooms, one must play table games or slots now. CET has tightened up their comps and in the process, have alienated poker players. Diamond is even harder to attain the last two years, while tier points for poker have only decreased.

Your best bet if desperate is to get a poker rate from the floor or book online using their promotional offers. You can get 40% off a three night stay or more simply by booking online. Not as good as a comp, but much better than paying calendar rates.

I like to play at Harrahs, but have been playing at the Borgata when in town and at ML. If I was desperate I would go over to the Taj.

If I am going to give my money to anyone, it will be to a room that is also giving me comps. On the calendar, and on the phone they offer reduced rates, that are about the same as the extra days one plays at the Borgata. In many cases they are charging more.

I am a Diamond player. If that is not enough for them, that that is fine with me. I did stop in to Harrahs the other day in order to cash out my remaining 240 comp dollars. Now I get a nice parting gift.

I just got back from Harrahs with my free 2 night stay, the action there at night was good, but during the day it is the worst place to play I have ever seen! Played for 5-6 hours with these nits and whenever anybody raised to $10 they all folded, we didn't see a pot over $40, they were all playing for the high hand at $1/2. Going to be going back to the Borgata, all these promotions kill any action that they used to have,

Normally it gets really loose at around 9 pm and then tightens up at around 7 am. You comment a lot on this thread, you should know that!

Do cet properties in Atlantic city still do the rake back promotion? I am not going to be working much in February and I'm really going to put in some serious volume. Also, do most people buy in for the max at the super 1/2 or is it the normal 2-300 buy in

Yes but the level of play between 7 am and 9pm is a joke, they all check around for the high end at 1/2 NL, they should be playing limit

As far as second question, I bought in for $500 last time and was big stack at table. Played for a few hours and saw 1 or 2 others buy in max. More common to buy in smaller though.

LC: I was here yesterday morning, and I swear I heard the music loop like 5-6 times in a 5-6 hr time period. I kept listening to One Direction over and over again. Is the economy really that bad, Harrahs, that you have to cut down on the music played? Terrible.

I'll give you that. It is pretty bad during the daytime.

Do the 12:15 PM and 8:15 PM tournaments go on all week days, or only certain days? When I have been at Harrah's on week days, I don't remember seeing any afternoon tournament, but have not been around to see if the 8:15 PM tournament gets much of a turnout.

Well to be fair, Harrah's has had recent unexpected repair expenses for its bathroom pipes.

+1 to this!! Its amazing that the woman's restroom was closed for almost two weeks and we had to go all the way upstairs to use the closest restroom. If this had been the guy's restroom, I'm sure there would have been a riot...LOL. For a multi-million dollar company, bathroom repairs certainly should have been more expedited.

We also experienced a few smoke-filled room scares and the sprinkler system even went off one day. It was certainly an experience playing cash games in the tournament section with no automatic shufflers all day...felt like we had gone back in time. Seems like upgrades are needed everywhere.

A good general rule, when it comes to CET properties, is to set your expectations low, and expect reality to be lower yet.

Is it really that bad at 1/2? I thought about playing there if I ever stayed. Sounds like I'll just drive to Borgata instead.

Yes it has gotten a lot worse, the play at WSOP Wild West is so much better.

All online is NJ is bad, Parry and Borgata has given me a bad feeling towards Borgata casino now as well, and I am a black label and go every week.

I agree. Dealers are friendly here. The players/regulars can go either way though.

There are still some good games in the evening, as I stay there a lot as well. You just have to time it where you play say after 7pm. Its sad that this room has lost so much business due to the WSOP room, as the dealers and staff there are great!!

The games have been super tight there over the last six months during the day. Mostly reg infested and promo driven. Nevertheless, weekends are still a good game value, and with the summer approaching, there should be some revitalization of the room in number of players.

They really do need to work on repairs though, as bathrooms and other "issues" were operational nightmares throughout the winter. Plus, as everyone has been stating, CET needs to get back on the path of giving back to poker players to regain a competitive position with other rooms.

Any need for a few good poker dealers? Or even table games personnel?

Contact Harrah's, Tunica, MS.

1300 experienced gaming personnel will all be available on June 2nd. They are closing down the entire resort.
