I'm also wondering how one ever gets 60 people to agree to a chop.

There has to be more to this story, methinks.

Lee

No issues here. For once I agree with ya lee.. The lady has every right to refuse. Personally, if I have a ton of chips, I'm not chopping, ever.. Especially if I'm only winning $2k and have to claim $10k on taxes. That's just absurd.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

It had been awhile so I when so many people chopped I wanted to resurrect the tax issue since I brought it up the last time. Net, chopping before the final table is totally ridiculous unless you would like to incur say $4000 in tax liability. Play it out and see what happens.

I was playing to win, and had no problem pushing with AQoff as the open raise from the cutoff +1 after one limper. I lost the race. Even though I had 30K the Blinds and antes were 4500. An M of 6.66 almost never gets to the final table. You have to be very aggressive and frankly, the math supports pushing with any two cards, and not just AQoff.

I had done a very good job chipping up from 20 to 30K, and planned on goinng to the final table or to the cash game.

The other part of the equation is the randomness of getting to a final table. Playing well, you do not get there very often, and so when you do, you want to maximize your value.

Yes, the M's become ridiculously low after awhile. However when you combine these two issues, it is best to play it out and see what happens. Otherwise, most certainly, the person who signs for the win will get a visit from the IRS. And since he or she did not plan on it, it will be too late to claim that you did not know you were responsible for taxes on 10k and not 2K.

No, both hands have to be shown. That's why you should check on the river if you have a qualifying hand.

Usually 40-55. And no 25 greens. Blinds start at 100/100

Played the 50K freeroll today at Bally's. It went off without a hitch. We ended up chopping it even for $881 with 44 players left. Yes the girl who refused last month chopped this one.
Dan and his staff ran a quality events from beginning to end and was instrumental in getting the chop done fairly and quickly once qe decided that's what we wanted to do.
Once again thank you to all the CET personal for running a quality event.

Hi all I'm planning on heading to Harrahs tomorrow night and my gf and her friend are coming with me. Her friend only has an out of country ID and we are all in our early 20s so will most likely be carded. Do you think this ID will pass as valid identification or will she get hassled because of it? It'd just be a real shame if we got there and then she wasn't able to participate in what we were doing. Thanks in advance.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

Does anybody knows how many tier credits an hour are given for a 2 5 NL game at Harrah's Atlantic City? How about 5 10 NL? I know 5 10 does not run there usually, but I'll be around during the circuit events and I remember it ran during circuit events 2 years ago.

It's now super 1/2 NLH and super 2/5 NLH. 1/2 is 27 tier credits 1.50 an hr. 2/5 is 35 credits and $2 an hr I believe but im not 100% sure.

You are almost correct. 1/2 is 26 tier and 2/5 is 34 tier. The comp dollar amounts are correct.

5/20 runs on the same tier as 2/5. That is a "level 4" game with 34 tier and $2 comp per hour.

You will need a passport or state issued ID. I have seen issues with ID acceptance at casinos and they are pretty strict. I have also seen an increase in the carding of individuals especially at Harrah's and Borgata since there has been issues with underage alcohol and gambling recently.

Most places typically would not accept an out of country ID other than a passport.

Thinking of coming down for some prelim WSOP-C events. Which room would be best taking into account quality of room and proximity to tourney area: Harbour Deluxe or Marina Deluxe? Price is the same.

Neither is that far. 5 minutes at a leisurely stroll. Harbor is the older of the two. Make sure you use code wsop13 when booking unless you have a better offer. Good luck! See you on the felt.

Where can I find a structure sheet for the WSOP Circuit events? Maybe I missed something, but I could not find that information on either the Harrahs AC or WSOP websites.

Harbor is MUCH better than Marina. Gee whiz.

They both suck compared to Bayview and Waterfront.

Is it reasonable to expect 5/10 games to be running during WSOP?

As a diamond I almost always stay in the Atrium. That is where I would stay. You get a suite and you are just a few steps away from the poker room. They seem to know that I play poker because we get a room just off the harbor tower.

And of course the newest towers are very nice.

The bayview and waterfront are the way to go, however, there is construction going on in that area for a new convention center so a bit noisy. If given a choice between Harbor and Marina, go with Harbor as stated earlier. Close to the poker room and better room than Marina.

If you are a diamond or platinum, ask about room upgrades. They may be able to get you in the Atrium, or the Waterfront/Bayview.

As far as games go, last year they did have 5/10 games going, but not as prevalent as the 2/5. Multiple games go, and Harrah's 2/5 game has a 200-1000 buy-in, so it runs deeper than your usual 500 max 2/5. You will probably find more action here. Good luck with the series....and see you there!
