Hey guys need some help on room selection. Im looking at making a trip down sometime soon and wanted to know what the best rooms are? Im looking to take the trip with my gf so shes interested in the pool and I am interested in the poker room. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Whats closest to the Poker room?

Whats closest to the pool?

Waterfront premium room > bayview premium but both are nice and both are a short walk to the pool. The rooms near the poker room suck. My advice - stay in nicer room as I mentioned above and you make the 3 minute walk from the room to the poker room while she takes the 20 second walk.

Thank you, Yeah I agree convience to the pool will be my priority. I dont mind a walk to the poker room. The easier it is for her to get to the pool and back to the room the more table time for me! Thanks.

+1

It is not bad, but its their oldest tower and not too nice, so everything is older and smaller. Bayview and Water Tower are almost the same other then more TV channels on the Water

Rumor had it that there were bed bugs in that tower? Not confirmed, but heard it from several others. Other than that, the rooms are smaller, with older decor, and in need of a remodel. As others have said, the waterfront and bayview towers are the nicest, and well worth the upgrade fee if you don't qualify for them. Another choice is the Atrium "junior" suites, which are very roomy, can sleep two different parties, and are close to the poker room.

Yes the atrium is the best option, close to the poker room, is like you said a junior (mini) suite. But you have to be a diamond member to get it most of the time, or at least a platinum.

The other thing you can do is check in late (like 10pm). I've gotten upgraded to an Atrium Suite 3 out of the last 6 times I went to AC this year. I'm not diamond or platinum, not even close. I think it really depends on availability, and obviously they're not available to us regular people on the weekends.

Hey guys,

They still dealing the 1-1 $100 NL game? I got a buddy new to NL, we played it a couple of years ago, and he wants to play it again. I haven't been down to AC in ages since Parx opened. The Harrah's website only mentions 1-2 as the lowest game...

I'm not sure if I've ever had a positive experience there. I had to switch rooms three times on my first time there, the first time there was a broken toilet that couldn't flush, the second the bed was pretty much shot and sagged. Front desk had to switch me over to the Marina Tower (which is the Harbor Tower, but not quite as run down and unmaintained).

The second time, I found 2 dead cockroaches near the window. The front desk didn't even bother to move me to another Harbor Tower room and moved me straight to the Bayview Tower. From then on, I just avoid the Harbor Tower, or I will pay a little more than stay comfortably.

Are the daily tournaments still running on the usual schedule? On the Harrahs AC website they still have the 2012 schedule.

Has anyone played the 8:15pm tournament mid-week lately? About how many runners for Tues or Weds night?

Haven't been down in awhile, how's the 10/20 2-way game? Also, how many hours would I need to earn diamond at 10/20?

Thanks!

Can anyone confirm that the daily tournaments are still running? I called the poker room this past Tuesday and they said there were no players for the 8:15pm tournament. How likely is there to be an 8:15pm tournament next Tuesday? I'll be in the area for the BWO and wanted to warm up.

Not sure how many Harrah's gets lately, but you can try Showboat or Borgata. Harrah's when they do run tournaments will not be much of a warmup since they usually have so few runners.

10/20 OE game broke yesterday bc house didn't know how to take time correctly. Especially if you're not going to have a 3rd man walking rule, you can't expect that people will want to pay full time to start the Omaha half (or either half, actually) five handed. It should be that people present pay half time while the people who got up pay full time. Instead, the people at the table balked to paying the full $5 and the game ended for the day before the Falcons/Seahawks game even finished.

if people present pays half time then the person who got up pays half time too.

The consensus of the table, including the players who were away when this happened, all said this is how it should work. Basically the ones who aren't there shouldn't benefit from them not being there. Otherwise people would just get up on the last hand before the dealer change and it would always be half rake.
