I haven't played poker here since they had the pink chip 7.5/15 OE game. How many tier credits/comp dollars is the 10/20 OE?

Pretty sure it's 34 tier and $2 comp/hour.

Actually time is better. You win one pot and you've equaled your time. Win 2 and you're making more money. Plus they only take $2.50 (or $2 if they don't have any pink chips) if the game is short. Way better deal than rake.

Where do you get this 15-20 hands an hour and $100 figure from?

How much are they charging for time? Game is usually 7-8 handed often times less. I would estimate 30+ hands/hour last time I played and much more once it got short.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

It's closer to 25 hands/hr than 15. Almost every hand is max rake, as proven that almost every non-chop pot is half-kill. This is also a limit, not a no limit game so I don't care how much the house makes, I only care how much they're cutting into my winnings. Do you win more than 2 pots/hr?

Why sit on that much comp money? Even if you have no use for it you can exchange it for slot dollars (2:1) run it through the machine once and get some cash.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

I used to accumulate well over $1000 each year in CET comps, and use them to pay for hotel rooms & food on my annual WSOP trips to Vegas. Why would you convert them to slot dollars, which will earn you like 45c on the dollar? They never expire, as long as you play once every six months.

You stole my post! I burned through $500 my last trip to Vegas, and I got 5 nights comped only paid $120 for a Friday night and it was only me. Next trip I am planning on going with 3 other people, so hopefully my $800 I have will last me, much better getting 1:1 then 2:1 on slots, which is really 3:1

Slot dollars return almost 90 cents on the dollar. I don't think they can return less than about 85% by law.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

But, the comps get cut in half first. Example: Let's say that I take $1,000 in comp dollars, and convert them to $500 in slot dollars. Then get 90% of my money in winnings. That is $450 in cash in my pocket - or 45% of the original comp dollars.

Like others have said, since the comps never expire, so long as I play at least once every 6 months, why not save them until needed for food, hotels, etc.?

If I was going to do the 2:1 conversion thing, I would buy into tournaments. But, I'ld rather have them for hotels and dinners.

Just me, your mileage may vary.

Yeah as already mentioned, I'll never have the comp money expire on me, since I do play poker at least every 3 weeks. I do have plans for it, outside of gambling.

Re: Harrah's Resort (Atlantic City, NJ)

Basically the whole table has to agree for it to be O8 only. So there's no set schedule but usually later when the old stud players have left and people are stuck enough that they want to play a game more likely to win them a bigger pot.

There are stores that are 1:1. But they are very expensive, I walked into the mens stoor, Top Hat or something? Top Draw? Men like $175 for a Yankees shirt, it was nice, but $175. They did have an Ipad...not sure how much that was, if I had $2,000 in comps I might buy it for $800 or so...sure there is a 50% markup

The game typically starts up around noon everyday as an OE mix. A bunch of players leave around 6....at that point, the game either breaks or runs shorthanded with everyone agreeing to switch to O8 only. If it runs as O8 only for a while, it will often fill up again later in the evening.
