Right. So, when/if someone does, you *KNOW* that a straight flush isn't in their range. And call their bluff.

Maybe there is something to this betting big with the nuts.

Thats the dumbest move ever made, to ship it with absolute nuts when there is possibility of bad beat and the casino has a bad beat jack pot

Some dude was parading around tables either high or drunk and saying he was going to take everyones chips in the room. There was a big guy that I believe is a local and happens to be a cop and was yelling at the floor guy (sideburns, I forget his name right now) to do his job and all since the guy was being disruptive. Everyone was staring, it was that loud. I didn't get the whole gist of the conversation since I had only sat down 30 mins before the cop want all ballistic.

Yeah, copper was screaming his head off and I think all the "boys/girls in blue" got called over. You saw that, it was insane. But the dude that was going around saying he was going to take everyones chips was belligerent and I would've loved to seen some swinging.

While I would definitely never be folding in this spot, its pretty ignorant to use the game stakes as reasoning to call or fold.

Doesn't matter if you're playing 5/10 or .01/.02, your job is to make +EV decisions. The chips are not money. They are just weapons in the game.

I think it is a reasonable fold, depending on the profile of your opponents, assuming there is no BBJP. But given the situation and the size of the BBJP, this is snap-call even if the guy flips over the KJs. You have a 4% chance to win $100k for $140!

Based on my experience over the last 3 months, on usual Fridays and Saturdays, they get about 50 players..(plus or minus 10) in general. Long weekend, I am guessing they will probably get more

The $7.50/$15.00 pink chip Omaha 8/Stud 8 or better Hi/low game has been going great the past couple of months. Last night, the game lasted till about 12:30 am this morning.

Today's session wasn't quite as long, as the game broke shortly before 7:00pm.

Anyone interested in playing something other than Hold 'em is welcome. It pays $2.00 per hour in comps and 60 tier credits per hour.

Fun game! But very swingy. Bring a seatbelt and be prepared.

It's not 8/16 ($1 ante, $4 BI) as mentioned earlier in the thread ?

Pink chip OE = sweet...$1 ante, $2.50 BI ?

Right. $1 ante, $2.50 bring in. The game has morphed a couple of times during the past couple of months. This structure seems like the one that the players will be sticking with.

I'm heading over there now. Game should be starting up soon.

A couple of dealers mentioned that there are a handful of house rule changes going into effect within the next couple of weeks (e.g., betting line will play, players can play out of their racks). Anyone know if there are additional rule changes (and whether the changes are or will be posted somewhere in the poker room)?

no more using cellphones while in a hand... pretty standard rule at any other poker room in ac, but now being enforced at harrahs

The announcement was made in the poker room today. Among other things, as already mentioned, no cell phone use, of any kind, while at the table. One must step back from the table to use the phone (talk or text). However, there is at least a little confusion on this, as some think that it only means while one is in the hand.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring clarification on this and the rule changes regarding placing of bets. The line plays, I think. Awaiting final clarification on this, because there was a bit of confusion on this issue today. Nothing major, just new rules trying to be implemented and not everyone necessarily on exactly the same page. I'm sure it will all be made clear to us in the morning.

Another change is that instead of only being allowed 20 minutes away from the table, now it is two absent buttons. When a new dealer sits down, he gives an absent button to anyone not there. Second button gets one picked up. So, one could be gone for almost an hour. More than enough time for dinner.

There was something else as well, but I forget now what it was.

All in all, I like the changes.

There is money to be made vs. people who play for the bad beat.

That guy is complaining over a guy with the nut flush going all-in? If you don't have the stones to call $140 on a hand that could be a winner with just a flush, plus having 2 draws at the straight flush, I'm not sure what advice to give.

I can't remember because it's been so long since I've played there, but Bally's has the same rule, correct? I seem to remember a strong, younger Asian player who tried to use the line against me to get tells re my hand strength @ Bally's 1/3 game about two years ago.

the line plays at ballys, but not at caesars.

i was told at ballys that if u throw out $15 and only $10 crosses the line, ur bet is $10. i tend to verbalize my bets there.

i finally played a lil at harrahs last weekend for the first time in months, didnt disappoint... decent action and service

The Harrah's dealers with whom I spoke over the weekend indicated that they would be applying the line the same way (although that may not be how it will work in practice). Not really a fan of this rule change, but once you know the line is in play, it's easy enough to deal with it.
