I am hoping to start getting room offers from CET again. Since COVID and the subsequent shuttering of the Philly/Chester room I have not played a Caesar's property in a long time.

My goal is to drive out to Harrah's tomorrow in the morning and play poker for at least 8-10 hours. I am also prepared to donate $100 in a slot machine (I'll certainly take a win during this endeavor if the gods are kind).

1) Is it better to blow through $100 in a Nickle or quarter machine than anything smaller or is $100 all the same to them?

2) How likely is it for this to kick start some offers in the opinions of people here?

I think harrahs opens the poker at 12 or 1, don’t go too early or you’ll be lingering around waiting

Cheers, thank you! I wasn't leaving until 11 AM at the earliest so I should be good.

They might’ve recently added that, I know it wasn’t 24 hours at first

I wound up playing six hours of $1/2 (+$90) and put $100 into a slot recommended by a degen pal Top Dollar quarter machine (cashed out for$250 with 23 tier credits).

Well see if that jump starts since room offers.

I was at Harrahs a few weeks ago and it was mentioned if you play 4 hours of poker you are eligible for a free room that night if they had some available. Not sure how often it happens though.

I played $1/2 for about 4 hours. They had a high hand of $300 per hour and there needed to be $30 in the pot to qualify. I really liked that it had a pot limit so high as it prevent the table from being mostly nits chasing them. The first night I played the High Hand did not hit for two hours and I hit it on the third hour with a straight flush 9-k for $900.

The game was good but the drinks took a long time coming. The room was not the best, but not the worst either. I say about average. Overall I could see myself playing there more in the future.

I did try to hit the other local casinos but gave up after awhile as most had there poker rooms still closed and rumor of some of them being closed for good.

The hotel room was average for its price range but my room did come with nice windows overlooking the Ocean. Was likely the best view in a hotel Iv had as I was able to watch the sunrise over the Ocean.

Did you have to pay for the hotel room or not? You never said!

From what I can tell, Greyhound buses no longer arrive or depart from Harrah's.
Can someone confirm this?
Thanks!

Pre-Covid they definitely weren't. Bus stop and casinos on the boardwalk only, I think just Ballys, Caesars, and maybe Trop?

Cheap rates got me and a buddy to book on Thursday.

I played some 1-2, still getting my legs under me. My tables there seemed easier than the players at the Borgata Thursday afternoon. Small sample size, didn't crush, but felt like a good spot to 'warm up'.

If I just wanted to get into the poker room, is there an alternate parking lot to the self parking garage?

Played poker on Monday and Tuesday. Nice crowds

And seriously, is it possible for the casino to get another late night option other than pizza and AC Burger? The lines after 9 pm were insane to get into either of them /rantover

Played the 10/20 2 way the other day, of course not without controversy..
Woke up extra early to come downstairs and start the list before getting my morning coffee at Starbucks and of course degenning on slots..

The signup kiosk in the poker room no longer is functional, so they slap a piece of paper on the desk with the games on it and you write down your name, most of the old folks put seat numbers next to their names as well.. the room doesn’t officially open til 11aM..

I walk in at 830. And put my name and my buddies name down.. #1 and #2. Sweet. Go to Starbucks, and begin my slot binge after..

1045 I walk back to poker room, and see all the usual suspects already sitting at the table that the 10/20 is on.. there are 2 seats remaining, I take one of them
And lock the other up for my buddy who is coming from The garage.

The poker room manager comes to the table, produces a random list from his pocket, looked to be a piece of toilet tissue or paper towel perhaps and starts calling off the names, to which myself and my buddy are not on this magical list.

The rather tall, white haired, sarcastic regular that everyone knows and adores, says you didn’t know this was a private game, you have to leave now. Floor guy pulls me aside, apologies and basically kisses regs posterior saying how they brought the game to Harrah’s and we can’t upset them, they generate rake, blah blah blah. I eventually get in the game 5
Mins later after someone doesn’t show up...

Played for 3 hrs, booked a win... obvious soft play, unbearable table banter, old guys calling the lady dealers sexy and yummy.. I’ve played with most of them in that game for the last 10-11 years in various Card rooms, but it’s never been that bad.. I will never play again.

It never ends, even after the setback of the last 18 months the same players(comp scammers) come out of the woodwork to build their "private game" to rack up some comp points. the list is a called in list assembled by one member who puts down ten or so names to lock out the table for them. They fold to the large blind to pass the blinds around and get diamond points for their accounts. The house is hungry for their game on bravo. Same tall white haired gent from the Taj or G.N.

]I'm not sure if Harrah's is a no flop, no rake house, but if the 10-20 has 5 as the small and 10 as the large then the house won't take a rake and the game is free for the private gamers to rack up Diamond points!!!!!
