How have the $2.5 gtd tourneys on Mondays and Wednesdays been doing? Worth going out of my way to play in?

CET has had the Showboat for sale for a long time with no takers.
In the current casino market what could the Showboat possibly be worth?

With Resorts attempting to partner with Poker Stars the chances that PS would want to buy a freestanding casino have gone down appreciably. I hope the Resorts connection makes PS a more palatable applicant.

Another thought-is the online market potentially large enough to have 4 viable entries?
If PS gets licensed, the others are in for a dog eat dog battle.
I eagerly await the Nov 26th projected start date.

Yea, the offers are back as of September. However, right now, for August, all bets are off for comp rooms and poker rates have been suspended. When fall hits, off season rates return and things should be a bit looser with the comps. Just check your offers online.

i don't understand their system. i earned platinum in one month over there and am very close to diamond. i can't get a room rate lower than $119.

I quit using the online booking long ago. I am pretty tech savvy, but the whole system is so convoluted with the offer codes.

If I'm going for poker I prefer Harrahs (nicest, and easiest to get to Borgata), If I'm going to party, or the girlfriend is joining, I usually end up at Ballys. (Caesers is nicer I think, but it's small and I rarely get offers) Showboat is fun, but the rooms kinda suck, and all the way at the end of the Board Walk.

If you are willing to be flexible on which property you stay, I offer the following advice.

When calling, you can't just ask the operator to let you know which properties you have comps for, they may kind of make it seem like they are, but they are not. You have to talk them through the whole process.

Call your first choice property, ask for best rates, if it's not comped ask them to check next choice property. Rinse and repeat. Its a pain in the ass and can take 15-20 minutes or so to actually figure out all of your choices, but a little persistence and I usually end up with a better deal than I would of gotten otherwise. Don't fall for the "this is the best rate I can find, and we can not guarantee it for very long, would you like me to book that for you right now?"

Don't forget to enjoy all the cheesy scripted conversations you will have with them while waiting for the results of their search as well.

i've tried pretty much what you said with no luck. i've actually called at 9pm on a tuesday night. they had a room available for $119. Would not comp it or come down on price at ballys. just terrible

Only a sucker would fall for this. Despite what CET calls it this is not rakeback; it is BBJ money back. You are just getting your own money back and to even get that you have to meet a few conditions.

A typical player is paying about $2 per hour extra in BBK drop compared to other casinos because CET's drop is $2 per hand at $40. It's hardly a bonus to get that back only if you manage to meet CET's requirements.

Offers and room rates have a lot to do with "average daily therathical loss" and that does not include poker. If you only play poker and do not qualify based on play, the best offers available to you will be poker rates that are not available during the summer months. If you are platinum or above, CET properties, with the exception of Caesars itself" have been offering two free nights a week two nights a month to most players.

I once asked that with a high tier score and a seven star card why I couldn't get a lower room rate, and when they looked up my play, the host that is, the screen was blank. Poker and table games/slots are on two different systems when it comes to casino offers and comps.

Most offers, including mine, are returning in September. For now, it is pretty high rates at most CET properties regardless of tier score. Because most properties are running at or near capacity, they are more interested in selling rooms than comping since they can get away with it. I have found that calling in at the last minute to get a room has netted me the lowest rates, but far from what I would want to be paying at this time.

Is the 10/20 O.E. game still played here? I never see it on Bravo. If not, does anyone know where the game moved to?

Thanks!

Yes, they usually get it running daily, but the interest has varied and some days it only goes for a few hours. Others, it goes all day with even a must move game. It depends on who shows up, but they are still spreading it.

It recently moved to Taj and I saw two games running at times and the game going later than it ran at Harrah's. Taj isn't on Bravo, so you won't find it there.

As I said, using the computer did not work at all. Calling worked just fine. Booked my comp rooms for Sept. It usually does not work that way for me. So I thought I would post what happened.

If anyone has a direct email of upper management at Harrahs AC, I would appreciate it if you pm me. Had a very serious issue last trip that I plan on sharing soon, but am trying to contact upper management directly first.

Any direct corporate emails would also be appreciated.

You will remain anonymous if you wish.

I have tried very hard to find a direct phone number or email address but it seems impossible, and risk management is not getting back to me.

The wife and I are probably gonna drive out for the 8:15 tourney tonight. How many runners does it get? If it'll make more sense to play the 11 PM at Showboat, we could do that instead...

I consistently get two days two times a month. That is stable for a number of years, except for the summer, when I get none at comped rate. However, THIS time, I had to call and redeem the offer. It would not work on the computer.

Since it was a glitch, I thought I would post about it, in case you run into the same thing.

In other news, I do not get this building a conference center. They should be DOUBLING the size of the Convention Center, which is 500000 square feet. Instead they are building a separate 250000 square foot convention center between the Borgata and Harrahs.

I do not think this makes much sense unless you want to attract even SMALLER shows than AC attracts now. Obviously, that is NOT the point. So, in this case, I wonder what CRADA is doing.

As you can see from the list, if you double the AC convention center, then you are in serious convention center size territory.

Just putting the 250K on top of 500K sq feet gets you way up the list.

If it is important, put it in writing. Seriously. Send it as high as you feel is appropriate. That goes for all issues anywhere. Either corporate AC, or Corporate LV.
