Yeah standard hits when I'm not there. In other news when is the freeroll for hours accumulated in July? Getting no help from front desk almost like they couldn't be bothered.

Haven't been to AC in a while and was planning on heading down this Sunday to Harrah's. Can anyone let me know how the poker room is there on Sunday? How about the tournaments in the afternoon/evening? Thanks for any info.

Looks like this thread needs to be revived. I just booked a room for a Friday in October. Hope the traffic in the poker room is better than here. Anyone play there regularly that can give any updates on weekend action, or is it best to just head to Borgata?

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know that there was activity there. Don't get to play as often as like, so I want to make the most of my time.

Found out that harrahs rakes preflop on an uncalled bet. For instance, i make it 40, everyone folds, dealer rakes 4.

Raking with no flop is absurd enough but raking uncalled bets preflop is just madness.

Is this the only poker room in the country with this policy? Does harrahs not actually have this policy and i was just dealing with a dumb dealer?

Unless they've changed policy very recently, that is NOT their policy! We'll be at Harrah's tonight, and will find out more.

Did you call the floor when this happened? I've played many hundreds of hours at Harrah's and never seen this. (Their official policy is to rake hands without a flop, but dealers frequently overlook this in experience.)

Big difference between raking hands without a flop and raking uncalled bets preflop. I would really avoid any poker room that does either.

If this is what happened, it was definately a mistake, but are you sure that's exactly how it went down? I've never seen someone raise to $40 in a $2 pot (1/2 game), and I would think an open raise to $40 even in a 2/5 game would be very unlikely.

If there were a smaller previous raise, or even several calls, there would then be a pot to rake. Still unlikely that it would reach max rake, but something would be taken.

At the Taj I played a hand before that went like this: a few limpers, someone raised to $12 or so, someone else called, I go all in (had less than $100), everyone folds. My raise is uncalled, but the first $12 counts as a call, so the pot is over $40, and full rake is taken.

Yes, I agree. The first is officially the rule at Harrah's, butt] is only sometimes followed. The second is definitely not something that is ever done in my experience (at least in the US).

NickMPK is correct. We were at Harrah's last night and received confirmation on this.

The only place that I've ever heard of (but haven't played there, so can't say for sure) a rake on an uncalled bet is on some cruise ships. But then again, they are the ones who rake huge amounts anyway..... Nothing to do with Harrah's or any land-based casino that I know of.

Thinking about heading to Harrah's tonight, how are the daily tournaments mid-week? Any low limit hi-lo games (OE or SE)?

Heading down to Harrah's tonight with the wife. Any recommendations for the restaurants? Are Luke Palladino, Bluepoint, or The Steakhouse worth it? Better to stick with one of the more casual places?

The Steakhouse is great. You may also want to try McCormick's.

That is not the policy, this is the policy:

You play 2/5, you get 4 limpers, you wake up with AA, pop it to $35, all fold, pot is now $20 for the limpers, $5 for you, and $7 for the blinds, so $30, $3 is raked is $1 for the bad beat. $4 is raked.

Go back, you raise $20 UTG, all fold, they take $1 since the pot is $12. At 1/2 there would be no rake unless pot is over $10. But I agree I do not like it.

Location-wise, McCormicks is right next to the poker room.

AC in general is still recovering from the storm and is running at about 25% capacity if that. There are still games being offered, as I was there this past week and they were offering about 3 1/2 games, 1 2/4 game, and the 10/20 OE was running. Although far from what they usually have, there are still games being offered. The main change I've seen is the availability of games in early morning. Borgata is running their open events now, which is also drawing more players there. Like you, this is a holiday weekend which tends to draw more people, so hopefully there will be more action than this past week. Good luck at the tables.

booked a marina room for friday dec14- sunday 16(prefer boardwalk but friends wanted harrahs) so the positive is that there should be tons of sluts strutting around over the weekend

how will the 1-2 games be on a saturday early to mid afternoon and maybe sunday morning? Does it compare to del park/taj or trop? or should i head to borgata which ive never been to

Anyone have any idea what to expect for the 1st WSOPc event next week?
Do they use auto shufflers for a tournament like this?
