I should arrive by 7pm tonight. I'll start a 5/10 list if there isn't one listed. Anyone committed to play, i would even play short-handed....

I am thinking about a trip tonight - right after work. I would definitely play $5/10 LHE - should be there around 7-7:30 if I can get out of town.

When did the 1/3 ever start? What's the max buy-in? I might decide to head down for some action if it is being spread.

The 1/3 game has been played at Harrah's for a couple of months now. Some players there requested it. The max buy-in is $500, same as at Bally's and all other AC CET casinos.

I was there on Sunday and left about 8PM. It still had not hit and the qualifier was at quad 5's. The total BBJ was about 551K at that point. I expect it to hit sometime soon. But I have been around waiting for it while playing and it doesn't seem to want to hit. Good luck to us all.

They are standardizing promotions across all CET properties, Finally!! The July promotions are the start of this, bonus comps being that every 10 hours you play above 20 hours, you earn that amount in bonus comps. For example, play 40 hours, earn $40 bonus comps. This is in addition to the base comp rate you recieve while playing, say 1 hour at 1/2. Freeroll hours will also be earned beginning at 50 hours up to 150 hours for maximum chips.

There are also other high hand and aces cracked promotions that will be offered, the details I cannot remember exactly. There are brochures in the poker rooms detailing the new promotions, which will be offered at Caesars, Showboat, Bally's, and Harrah's on a consistent basis.

Hope this helps. If anyone has more to add, please feel free, as I don't remember everything at this time.

Has anyone kept track of where the BBJ has hit more frequently since they combined the four rooms? Thinking of taking a drive after work tonight (4th of July).

It really doesn't matter where it hits; people playing in all four rooms get a share, if it hits in any of them.

I assume the the bonus comp dollar each hour at any cash game is still effective right?

The bonus comp dollar is out, replaced by the CET standardized comps as mentioned above. The wheel at Ballys has been removed too. That used to be spun for comps when you got cracked aces or 4 of a kind on specfic days.

Noticed that one can now straddle and buy the button at the Borgata...any chance of seeing this here or any of the CET properties?

Just posted this in the "AC promotions" thread, but it probably belongs here: I'm planning a trip to Atlantic City and trying to find a decent poker rate in advance (for a Monday/Tuesday).

I want to be sure and have a room booked since it will be end of July and I don't want to just show up and find out everything is sold out. Almost just went ahead and booked a Harrah's after talking to someone in the poker room a few weeks ago who told me the poker rate would be $25/night for 4 hours of play, and they could just adjust the rate once I get there and play for four hours. Great.

Yesterday I was about to call and book the room, decided to double check with the poker room to see if there wasn't some special rate code I could use to book the rate, and was told "we don't have any poker rates available for the rest of the summer. That could possibly change, but as of right now, they won't give us anymore rates." (not sure who "they" are-- the room reservation people, the corporate headquarters, what?)

I don't understand. I know it is summer, but really? I thought, from reading these forums that Harrah's was one of the easiest places to get poker rate, since it is off the boardwalk and tends to not be as busy, especially during the week. What the hell?

Anyone else had problems getting the poker rate at Harrah's this summer? Should I expect this at most or all Harrah's properties in AC (showboat, etc)?

Ballys has poker room rate available on weekdays @ $25/night. You have to play a minimum 4 hours a day there to qualify however. I would try there and that will be as cheap as it gets. I don't know if Showboat has a poker room rate and the rates at Caesars will undoubtedly be the most expensive of all the properties.

Thanks *******. Also, is that really $25 or do these hotels usually tack on another $15-$20 "resort fee" like they do in Vegas?

does not include tax and resort fees

It will be about $41.00 resort fee is $13.00 plus the different taxes

Be careful with Bally's. The way they manage the poker rate is that you book a room at full price then on the day you play, AFTER you have put in the required hours, you get the poker rate IF there are any rooms available at that price. The poker rate is not guaranteed and you could get hit for the full price of the room. Since CET has made it difficult to get discounted rooms this summer I would be prepared to have to pay full price for your room.
